Big Sam eyes Rovers' star
6:10am Saturday 5th January 2013 in Sport
WEST Ham boss Sam Allardyce has admitted his interest in signing Blackburn Rovers full back Martin Olsson – should the Swede become available.
Allardyce, who worked with Olsson during his tenure at Ewood Park, is chasing a left back with Joey O’Brien and George McCartney both picking up injuries.
And he admits he would relish the opportunity to work with Olsson, who handed in a transfer request in the summer but has since played a large part in Rovers’ season.
“If they have made Martin available I would definitely be interested because I worked with the lad at Blackburn when I was there,” said Allardyce. “I had a good time developing him into what I consider to be quite a good player.
“But whether Blackburn are wanting to sell anybody I don’t know.”

Yet another kicking us when we are down ....I know Venkys treated you very badly.....but we didn't. Thanks a million!
On the plus side ......Olsson is not a full back and I am sure there are better out there......but would they want to come to Shebbyland?

An unsettling tactic and you can bet Olsson will be penning s transfer request to escape the Ewood circus. Noticed last night Kean and Venkys have settled with Sam out of court for a substantial sum. If Olsson does go let's try and get Warnock back.
Shebby was offered Derbyshire, Paul Gallacher, David Bentley and Warnock all on loan and he didn't want any.

Olsson is one of the ones many expected to leave anyway, so it'll hardly be a surprise if he does, that said, he's been getting into the first team a lot more recently and doesn't appear to be unhappy since Keano left so who knows..

a previous manager has expressed an interest in one of our first team players...along with quotes from aforementioned manager (also widely quoted in other media).....and you think that the LT should ignore this. cloud cuckoo-land. sounds like shebby singh denying we are understaffed when we have just got rid of all the coaching team (bar bowyer, mcphillips and for some inexplicable reason hendry)

Face it, we're a cheapo club. If you think business or footie is run on the basis of "I'm not dealing with you, because you said something bad about me" you've probably never been further than Rishton.
The very best option is still that Venkys sell up and depart, all I hope is that when they do, we're still in the Championship and still have Ewood Park.

So on that basis they are terrified if we do not get back to the premier league.
They will do anything to get us back there as they do not want to face the financial hit in not getting promoted. Including sacking Henning after 10 games in charge.
Fans want promotion for the good of the town/club.
Players want promotion for financial and career prospects reasons.
So we all want the same thing but for different reasons !!
The only person who is not bothered is SHEBBY as long as he keeps his 400,000 wage pa. coming in !!

The question is simple, Sam has injury problems on the left, the journo has asked "Sam, what about Martin Olsson? Would he interest you?"
“If they have made Martin available I would definitely be interested because I worked with the lad at Blackburn when I was there,” said Allardyce. “I had a good time developing him into what I consider to be quite a good player.
It is very dangerous to twist and believe everything you read in the newspapers. Granted it can unsettle players but Sam doesn't have a vendetta against Blackburn, it is just a small town club that doesn't matter to Sam any more. The journalists and agents are the ones who manufacture moves for players.
