FRENCH club Evian look set to offer Gael Givet an Ewood Park escape route – with the Rovers defender desperate to quit Blackburn Rovers for a return ‘home’.

It is understood the top flight French outfit are set to make an approach to Rovers to take the 31-year-old on loan, with Givet having already told Rovers he wants out.

Givet has made just 13 appearances this season, and just one start in the last 14 matches, with Rovers putting his recent absence down to injury.

A representative for Givet, Nathou Busi, confirmed that Givet is keen to quit the club this month for family reasons and that Rovers are aware of his wishes.

Busi, said: “Gael has told Blackburn he does not want to play for them. He has family problems and wants to go back to France.”

Rovers, who have yet to receive contact from Evian, are understood to be reluctant to let Givet leave on a temporary basis as they look to keep their squad together.

The player though, who was substituted during the defeat at Charlton due to ‘not being in the right frame of mind’ while also not playing at Swansea last season for similar reasons, is determined to leave this month.
