ROMMY Boco’s goal consigned former Accrington Stanley boss Paul Cook to defeat on his return to the Crown Ground this afternoon.

Boco collected Padraig Amond’s pass and fired an angled shot past Chesterfield keeper Tommy Lee in the 65th minute, to give Stanley their first win in 10 matches.

Amond had an early header cleared off the line and Lee Molyneux fired just wide, but Jack Lester narrowly missed the target before Chesterfield twice hit the bar.

First Marc Richards hooked an effort on to the woodwork, before Mark Randall almost succeeding in chipping keeper Cameron Belford from fully 50 yards.

Belford, however, made outstanding saves to keep out Lester, Richards and Tendayi Darikwa after the interval as Stanley secured victory.
