NEW signing Nicky Hunt is set to make his Accrington Stanley debut this afternoon when former boss Paul Cook brings his Chesterfield side to the Crown Ground.
Stanley host the Spireites at 3pm and have signed former Bolton right back Hunt on an month’s loan from Rotherham United in time for the game.
Hunt played alongside Leam Richardson during the Reds manager’s spell at the Reebok Stadium, and went on to make more than 150 appearances for the Trotters.
But the 29-year-old has since had spells at Birmingham, Derby, Bristol City and Preston.
Hunt joined Rotherham in the summer but has not started for the Millers since October, and moves to Stanley for an initial month.
Richardson said: “Nicky’s got vast experience and he’s played at every level in the Football League. It’s been a position that we’ve been crying out for all year though people have been in there and done a good job but right back is a position I’d identified that we needed to fill.
“He’s a player I targeted quite early on and he was really eager to come and play for Accrington Stanley.”
