Blackburn Rovers sack manager Henning Berg

Henning Berg Henning Berg

BLACKBURN Rovers have this morning sacked manager Henning Berg.

Rovers were beaten 1-0 at Middlesbrough yesterday and the club have now released a statement confirming that Berg has departed along with backroom staff Eric Black, Iain Brunskill and Bobby Mimms.

Rovers' are unlikely to have a manager in place before Saturday's trip to Barnsley but are expected to appoint two coaches imminently.

The statement said: "Blackburn Rovers FC has announced the departure of manager Henning Berg, assistant manager Eric Black, first team coach Iain Brunskill and goalkeeping coach Bobby Mimms with immediate effect.

"This decision has been taken following a very disappointing sequence of results.

"The club thanks the four men for their efforts and wishes them every success for the future."

Venky's director Balaji Rao was quoted in The Times of India as saying: "We have not been doing well and dropping points and losing matches quite often. I want to go up."

Meanwhile, Rovers Action Group secretary Mark Fish admitted his "great delight" at the decision to let Berg go.

"He was a fantastic player for the club, but for whatever reason it just didn't work out for him here," he told Sky Sports News.

"It's difficult to say what. Perhaps the expectations from the fans, outside influences maybe. Henning Berg just didn't have the nous to get the job done? I don't know."

Sorry it didn't work out, Henning after your glory years here. But it was inevitable that you were on a hiding to nothing after Kean's surprisingly good start. No club can be managed by a penguin standing on the sidelines looking as if he won't move an inch until spring and that's how you came across. There can only be one man now and that's Mark Hughes. Funnily enough, if he hadn't left when he did, both Hughes and Bellamy would have won trophies by now. So come on down, Mark... the price is now right.

Should Henning Berg have been sacked? Yes. A record of W1 D3 L6 says so, as does the fact that Eric Black had far better results and so did Steve Kean with the same players.
-
It is simply not acceptable and they sacked him at the right time, unlike with Kean who they inexplicably kept on despite the fact he had alienated the fans and was responsible for us getting relegated.
-
The Venkys need to now wake up and bring in a experienced manager. They need to stop the rot, including in future not just selling off our best players because it brings money in.
-
I also need to know why Colin Hendry and Shebby Singh are still at the club. Both have proven to be as great a failures as Henning and the backroom staff have been.
-
Hopefully with a professional experienced manager and decent backroom staff our players will actually be fit to play for 90 minutes and not be out on their feet after 60 minutes, as was the case for the last 2 years. One can only hope.

The point you missed is not what Steve Kean was doing this season, if it was not for his management we would still be in the Prem, he orchestrated the break up of one of the most solid defences in the prem and the moral and fabric of a once proud club. People should only judge Rovers fans when they have been through what we have had to endure since the Walker family turned there back us.

Doing fine?

In less than 18 months he had just destroyed a capable Premiership side built by the likes of Hughes,Allardyce etc.

He had 3 or 4 lucky wins early this season but all Rovers fans knew at that time that we were in a false position as our performances were very, very poor.

Anyway, this is a bit rich coming from a Spurs fan whose club sacked Harry Redknapp.

Perhaps I need to spell this out for you as you are a well meaning outsider. Kean was an arrogant man, who goaded the fans and treated them with contempt. He created the bad blood at the club with his bad attitude and comments. Fans were protesting and staying away in there thousands because of the Venkys decision to keep him as manager in the face of appalling performances in which the players clearly were not fit and the poor results that led to relegation.
-
The Venkys ineptitude in not relieving Kean of his duties also in part added to the hatred felt towards him, as it showed his contempt for the fans by not resigning and doing the decent thing for the fans.

I think that summarizes it. Do not believe what the scottish mafia of ex pro's says about him in future.

Unfortunately you are an outsider and don't appreciate that it was Kean who got us into this mess (along with Venky's) in the 1st place. Yes we made a good start - god only knows how. We won games we clearly didn't deserve to and the position was always a false one.

Let's just hope that we have someone lined up - given that most of the backroom staff have also gone, I'm just hoping that we have and they have demanded they bring their own men in. If this isn't the case, then this may be the final nail......

Experience is needed for sure, but stabilty is more important, because without that the oblivion is on the horizon.

Kean wasnt sacked. He resigned!! Things werent going fine. We had to score 4 to win a game. He lost his last game and in case you forgot, he got us relegated. A minor detail for a Spurs fan I know but pretty significant for a Rovers fan who watched that relegation coming for nearly 2 years.

A sad day. Berg is a decent and honourable man, who will always be a legend as a player at Blackburn Rovers - probably the best defender we ever saw at this club. At times the performances have been good under his management, but the results have unfortunately not been good enough. I think it's a bit unfair to judge him so early, given that he was left with a midfield that would struggle to challenge in the second division, a goalkeeper that's at least two stone overweight, and a defence whose 'star' player has been relegated for the last two seasons and is doing everything in his power to make it a hattrick. Good luck for the future Henning. You're probably best out of this asylum.

A Rover 45 years and over says...
10:48am Thu 27 Dec 12

Henning did not make the impact required and the Club is in danger of going down at this point. This is another opportunity to get it right with the transfer window coming up etc. Experienced Manager required with his own backroom staff to bring discipline and sort this horrible squad out and get them playing with purpose and urgency.
Failure to do this will definately see League one football at Ewood next year with 4000 Season ticket holders and 8000 gates. This is last chance saloon and they will have to do some selling of the Club to pursuade a manager to come. Venky's football future will depend on this. Another cobbled attempt to manage this club will result in catastrophe. Don't be surprised if Shebby takes temporary charge.

Questions are Why have they panicked this time and yet left Kean dragging us down the premier league for almost two seasons and still not sacking him after we were relegated with him? There just had to be something more to his appointment. Berg didnt even have chance to get his own players and staff in. What terms did he agree to that he was willing to work in those circumstances? Who will prepare the team for weekend and next week? I refuse to go if that utter buffoon is in the technical area aided and abetted by Hendry. Murphy is the only one I would hand it to.

Yet another sad day in the history of Blackburn Rovers under the Venkys dynasty. I feel for Berg because he never had a chance with this setup but he has to take some responsibility for failing to follow his own advice about the job. Shebby obviously believes that Berg, Black, Mimms and others have let him down and failed to repay the faith he has shown in them. They, and they alone are responsible. So now do we see Singh as interim manager or will the club put an announcement out asking anyone going to the next game if they fancy taking charge. Many people on here speculate that because the manager and coaching staff have gone that there is a full management and coaching team are ready to step in but Singh doesn't do logical and sequential, he doesn't have a plan B.

He is but why did he take the job? Should have heeded his own advice. No credible manager would work for Venkys. He knew the score, he knew the squad that was available to him, he knew the terms he agreed to, he met the buffoon he would be answering to. Was he so desperate for work? Suggestions of Coyle, Hughes etc are so deluded. Nobody will apply and we will end up with Shebby which is what he wanted all along.

It's a free country so your comments are welcome. What nobody outside Blackburn understands is that Kean was an integral part of a regime that destroyed our club.
Let's say that Lebanese owners took over Spurs, sacked Harry after finishing 4th and appointed Tony Adams as manager. Then because he didn't like the board of directors, M Adams took a trip to Lebanon and complained to the matriarch. All your best players leave, the fabric of the club is ruined and lo and behold, Spurs are in the Championship.
The fans protest but they're ignored. Spurs are top of the Championship by some lucky victories....would you welome Mr Adams...no!

This isn't Berg's fault, it's the fault of the 3 Stooges appointing him in the first place. Rather than showing real ambition and going for a proven manager they went for a cheap compromise. This season he has them at the edge of the playoffs and is sacked because the crazy owners think they need someone with premier league experience, so they will end up with a has been journeyman, eg Keane, Hughes etc. What is needed at Blackburn is O'Driscoll and maybe this is why Rovers have acted a few hours after Forest consigned themselves probably to Div 1. I think it's time for BRFC to start again. The club is crying out for stability and needs an experienced manager - not necessarily with Premiership experience - who can bring some clear direction and organisation to the playing side.

No experienced manager with half a brain cell would accept a position with Venky's in charge, so whilst they remain the owners I expect another 'disappointing' appointment that will further infuriate the fans, demoralise the players and make a mockery of the Venky's 'grand' plans (remember our efforts to get Ronaldinho?!).

Venky's out; experienced manager in; set out a realistic period required for rebuilding, meaning that promotion this year may be too soon. Having said that, I really fear for the financial implications for the club if we stay in this division and how much of the Venky's business model is dependent on immediate promotion.

2. Sell all your best players and when relegated, spend fortunes on mercenaries wages on silly long term contracts.

Its natural to suggest Hughes, Coyle etc but when will Rovers fans learn? Managers will not work for Venkys. Forget it.

Will P says...
11:21am Thu 27 Dec 12

Mark Hughes would not be the answer. This is not 2004 anymore. He inherited a good team with stability. His recent performances don't give him a nice CV either. I'm not completely writing him off, but if his recent managerial experiences are anything to go by, he's not the man.

However, it's known that Hughes likes to bring his staff with him wherever he goes. So, could the axing of the Mimms, Black and Brunskill be paving the way for Hughes' staff?

Who knows, the appointment needs to be made quickly but also needs to be the right one. Apparently the new manager is expected to be announced shortly (not today).

Suggestion wise, if this was 5 months ago, i'd of said Larsson/Solksjaer/Tu
gay however because we're in this position, I'd suggest someone with Championship experience. Not McLeish.

Maybe Roberto DiMatteo? Probably unrealistic, but he got West Brom promoted to the PL so he knows how to get a team promoted. He also knows how to get the best out of players. I don't think that Blackburn is the kind of place for him though. He'd be the person i'd choose if it could happen.

Steve Kean did get a few good results just before he was sacked, but the results were achieved more by luck than judgement. The team were in fact playing badly and there was no real improvement, especially in defence. Added to which, the guy had got the club relegated, and should have resigned last May.He appeared to have too much of a close relaionship with the owners in India. His attitude to the fans left a lot to be desired and he had lost the respect of the crowd and maybe the dressing room as well. Anyway, why did Spurs sack Harry when the were in the top 5? Hell we cannot ban those old dingles, its reading their posts that reminds us that no matter how bad life may seem there is always someone worse off than you. Listen, the Kean affair was nothing to do with the football he was playing ......our really intense dislike of him was based on his lies, his arrogance and how he played a crucial part in the dismantling of our club.

As with Spurs we have a proud past ......we have little pride , if any left, and as a genuine fan you will appreciate what I mean .

We will have to start again in whatever league that may be , rid ourselves of the odious Venkys and hope the love of the club that genuine fans feel will pull us out of this nightmare.....give our best to Friedel ....now he was a gentleman .

To be honest I am almost past caring who comes in now - as I am not sure it will make any difference to the future of the Rovers. They just sacked an honest man who had Rovers in his heart and in his history and who could have (with time) done the job. A miracle man is needed now to take the club forwards and (apart from our own Saint Jack) I don't believe any of those ever existed. A dark day indeed Woody. Shabby is the most outspoken cricket fanatic ever to have control of his second favourite football club, and probably can't wait for someone to put his name forward to take control.

The club has sunk to new depths with these bandits. Some loudmouths have got what they wanted, total instability at the club, these lowlifes spent an age pretending to look for the perfect Manager, they are making it up as they go along, and some think they are doing the right thing. Whoever is left now deserves what they have got, they are going down together in the cespool they have created.

Coyle, McCleish, Hughes, ODriscoll,

One thing is for sure, NO manager with one ounce of self esteem would take the job and be answerable to the likes of Singh or Desai. Only the desperate will consider it.

So, you got rid of Kean and Berg and Hughes seems to be your preferred choice. To be honest it makes no difference who your manager is as long as Venkys and Singh are in charge.

The amount of dingles on Rovers articles speaks for itself. There's little more to add which isn't already obvious. When your own articles can't hold your interest (or loyalty, passion bla di blah) its pretty pathetic coming on here getting insulted and still coming back for more.

Once again the dreamers are making up their wish list. But as ever, it's the accountants in Pune who will decide and once again Venkys will go for the cheapo option which means someone alrady in place or out of work now on a temporary contract to try to turn it round and get into the play-off places as a last ditch before Venkys hop it- McLeish fits that bill. Ignore the PR nonsense about in it for the long haul. Venkys have to make it back to the money mill of the Premiership, if we don't then they'll cut their losses and go. In a way, the best long term solution is for Rovers to survive in the Championship, and that will take some hard work, and build again for a push next season without Venkys and Shabby.
The nightmare scenario is Hendry and Shabby, don't rule that out. Venkys will release a bit of readies in January and a lot of hot air about "push for promotion".
It really is a nightmare, just when you think it cannot get worse, it does.
Sad that Radio Lancs, which has played a good hand in the sorry saga, gave Shabby a platform for establishing his credentials by commenting on the Boro game. My point had nothing to do with Kean. Whether it was Kean or Allardyce or Hughes or Dallish, why on earth would you protest when team is doing fine.
I think you guys have reaped what you sowed.
I remember a female fan of your's saying when Keane got the sack that it was the best day of her life.
I think as someone said if Keane was going to get the sack it should have been last season, but he had a good start this season the players were behind him an d I think the fans would have come round.
L1 next season I think and then who will the so called fans blame.
If you remember you were a small club with small gates before Jack Walker came in, you are now returning to your rightful level.

Performances were abysmal under Kean. Scabbing 1-0 wins was okay but not in line with club ambitions. And it wasn't like under Allardyce where we could comfortably and consistently scrape a victory, we were the worse team in most games. Am sure Shebby has been sticking his nose in behind-the-scenes and not been letting Henning get on with his job.

I feel sorry for Henning as I did want him to do well at Rovers - I wished him well when I met him after the Palace game and shook his hand, too.

Our beloved Rovers has been in great shambles since the Venky's took over and they are making us look like a circus rather than a football club! You couldn't make it up really. The players have a lot to answer for. Three different managers so far this season, albeit Eric Black as caretaker but they just have not seemed motivated from day 1. Im sorry for Berg, I felt that given time (which no-one gets these days) he might of turned this around temporarily. I say temp because the real root of self destruction remains. While Venky's reign as masters of creating an anglo-indian mega franchise brand of Rovers we lose yet more respect and empathy of others who are in the mainstream and dictate what the average 'fan' does know of us, sadly in the last few years all we are now is a complete joke to just about everybody. However this attitude creates a downward spiral of losing the clubs heritage, identity, morals, values and ethics. You could easily argue most of them have been erased altogether. Id like to think there is hope, like Berg must of thought before he got to grips with the running of the club but someone in authority needs to investigate this disastrous appointment. You only have to look at Pompey for a blueprint to how this will end if this carries on. It's all well and good having a new manager but fook'n let them manage and motivate these well-paid slackers.

We know your point but it is wrong. We werent doing fine with Kean. It's a long complex story that you obviously arent aware of.
Merlinrabbit has summed it up perfectly here, Spurs fan.

Just like I'm sure you wouldn't expect a Rovers fan to understand the ins and outs of Redknapp's departure, your understanding of Kean's tenure is clearly limited.

Do you think the fact that he took us down to the championship in the first place had anything to do with it?

How about the constant and complete ignorance towards any and all shortcomings of the team's performance, win lose or draw?

Or the fact that he had more 4 transfer windows to bring in players which could have strengthened the areas we desperately needed to improve on, yet brought in the likes of Bradley Orr, Danny Murphy, Dickson Etuhu, David Goodwillie, Myles Anderson and Martin Ollsson's twin brother (not to mention labelling every other new signing 'the new Rooney' / 'Dennis Irwin' / 'Batistuta' / 'Gattuso' / 'Chris Smalling')

Spurs fan, you haven't launched a tyrade of abuse, so I don't think you deserve one back. Your question however is very representative of the views other fans - who are ill-informed about the Kean saga - seem to have.

The top and bottom is that Steve Kean made elementary mistakes as a manager from the day he was employed. Without question, we would still be in the PL had a proper manager been in charge. He had lost the majority of the fanbase through his own refusal to acknowledge poor performances and glaring issues, could never get a team to defend and generally living on another planet to the one where the football matches were being played.

The mistake the owners made - and hence why you may have formed the opinion that he was doing fine before he was forced out - was that they didn't sack him as soon as we were relegated.

For the Spurs fan also. To add to the damning evidence towards Kean getting the sack he also accused Rovers fans of spiking his drink when arrested after a game against Man Utd. Now accusing your own fans of spiking your drink isn't wise when your supposedly trying to get them on your side. Did i mention that an actual Court Judge found him guilty of drink-driving and decreed that he had in fact lied about the whole incident.
There is youtube footage of a drunk Kean during a pre-season tour of asia. Check it out, its the same video that S.Allardyce is suing him for; in it he rants and swears, calls SA a crook in so many words and even claims he was the one that discovered and made Phil Jones!

Can I please ask you to cast your mind back to one of the last games of the last premier league season:

White Hart Lane - Spurs-v-Rovers.

Please remind us, under Mr Keans tactics during the game, how many shots did Rovers have on target?

The answer you will find is NONE!!

Now please show me another manager within the top 2 divisions who has gone to Spurs or any other club and played those tactics while threatened with relegation?

The figures lied and you cannot defend the charlatan as being anything other than a opportunist who has used the situation to become comfortable as there was never any other way he was going to achieve the same as a manager of a club with owners interested in their investment.

It has come to my attention that everyone deserves a second chance even if they are sat in the last chance saloon. Seeing that we are in mid season and are running out of time, the last thing we need is a long term goal/plan. It would be of great benefit if we now just let the players enjoy themselves playing crazy gang Wimbledon proven style football under the guidance of one very successful, respected and currently unemployed manager Roberto di Matteo!!!!!!! Failing this there is then only Mr Blobby for the Jobby !!!!!

Without a doubt the right decision has been made. I'm very glad that Venkys have removed him before the rot gets even worse but I also do feel sorry for him. An honest guy who should be remembered as a good player not a bad manager but the decision was completely the right one. 1 win in 10 is an appalling record even in the PL, in the Championship its unforgivable and therefore it's right that Venkys send the message to players, staff, potential managers and fans that they won't tolerate that level of failure. The move to sack him so soon gives me hope that they're actually learning some lessons now and are finally going to appoint someone with proper managerial credentials. Surely you think they can't make the same mistake 3 times but then this is Venkys..

I have to say the decision to sack Mimms doesn't make total sense to me, especially if Hendry is still in a job. Who is the most responsible after HB for the shocking state of our defence if not Hendry? And why bring in new coaches before a new manager? Doesn't that defeat the point of the clear out in the first place, being that another manager will come in to work under staff which aren't his own?

This could still continue to go horribly wrong but get the right manager and who knows.

1st choice: Di Matteo

2nd choice: Mark Hughes

We don't need Pep Guardiola to get things working. Just someone who has the ability to identify and rectify problem areas, energise and motivate the team so that they actually play like they give a sheet and who basically can see things the rest of us can see.

The team was not doing fine the season before. We got relegated last year. We almost got relegated under Kean the season before, escaping on the last day. It was all down hill and Kean had a very poor record, yet he didn't seem to care, made up countless things (including player injuries) etc. Yes, we were doing quite well under SK in the Championship but by then the fans had turned against him, thousands voted with their feet and stayed away this season. Unfortunately, Venkys tried to mend something that most definitely wasn't broken and we are where we are now.

To be fair, it must be said that Venky's did act rather fast, either on their own accord, or with advice from Shebby.

It shows intent, although, it will still mean nothing unless they bring in a competent manager. The team has to be in shambles now, what with two different managers and two different playing styles in just a matter of months.

A new, tactically astute manager, who can rein in his players, is a MUST right now.

Henning Berg said:

"It goes without saying that I am bitterly disappointed to have been relieved of my managerial duties at Ewood Park after just 57 days since my appointment.

"At this stage I would just like to release a short statement thanking the Blackburn Rovers fans for their incredible support during my time in charge. I have always enjoyed a fantastic relationship with them dating back to my playing days where we shared some great memories. It was an honour for me to manage a club that is so close to my heart and I now wish all of them every success for the rest of the season and beyond.

"I would also like to thank the players and staff for their support and commitment in this short period. They have all done their best and unfortunately the results in these ten games have not reflected their performances.

"I wish the club all the best in the future, and are sure that with a few additions in the January Transfer Window, they will have a good chance of getting a play-off place."

Havent they had the last chance saloon time and time again? Yes they can make another mistake. They have continued to make the even since sacking Berg. Firstly by not sacking Singh the man who has wasted most of this season looking for a new manager and then choosing the wrong one and Secondly, appointing two new coaches before the manager. The manager should choose his coaching staff. Berg should have done himself a favour and resigned in the last week with some dignity instead of waiting to be sacked. Only he knows the terms he agreed to work within but he looked completely miserable the whole time..

He pressurised Kean who then left. Shebby's mistake is that he appointed Berg.It did not work out for Berg but at times you have to take a risk. Berg should have been given more time to bring his players and philosophy but unfortunately results have not gone for him. He has been unlucky as he lost some close games.

How any true Rovers supporter(or any football supporter) can laud and lament that the cretin that goes under the name of the odious one would be better served by still being in charge of the gross and utter shambles that as become BRFC is way beyond comprehension, in my view.

The whole fiasco begins with the Walker Trust being prepared to sell to what as now become globally known as a farce with the current owners Venky, and becoming worse on a daily basis.

Personally, I will never forget what this TRUST as done in helping to blight the name of BRFC and for shatting all over the memory of the late J Walker.

It's rotten and stinking to the core, and if this is how they conduct their business for a few dollars more at the cost, of this, our football club - then they can suck it and see as far as I'm concerned.

Hand this club back over to the fans and go into facking administration and let us start over. Our history is there for all to see - never to be removed, but with these cowardly, naive b'stards running the show a dark passage will forever be ingrained into our club.

As for that scurrilous little odious one he can rot as far as I'm concerned along with the Walker Trust(and I use that term lightly)

Rotten conniving stinking b'stards the lot of them.

Hi Darener. My first game at Ewood, 1943. Almost 70 years now and I'm a Darrener too. Venkys are the core problem. They are clueless. Any organisation that has inept owners who know nothing about the business, and try to run it from afar without ever visiting it, and insist on installing incompetent managers and officials, is an organisation that is doomed to failure.
How Venkys have been successful business people in India is amazing to contemplate. What they have done to this business that they purchased is a lesson in exactly what not to do.
I fear for our club.

True we had no shots on target but actually we had no shots at all-not a single goal attempt. Ineptitude of the highest order and I'm happier now than before he decided to leave.

May be I shouldn't have commented here.

My point had nothing to do with Kean. Whether it was Kean or Allardyce or Hughes or Dallish, why on earth would you protest when team is doing fine.
Not broken? get your memory checked. It was derailed, and slaughtered by a bunch of thieves. With a born liar speaking for them. Loyal fans had been through the pain barrier with this bunch of low lifes.

The position in the league was a farce, the in field play was abysmal, the current set up are corrupt and deserve all they will get.

No - don't agree that fans of other clubs should clear off.
I'm not a Rovers fan, but I follow this sad decline of a great club. You know the feeling - like a car crash on the M6, you just cant help looking as you go past.
Other fans should follow this because we should learn from it - how not to do it - how our club can avoid disaster. Also we can give our support even if we don't directly support BRFC. If it can happen to you it can happen to us, so that 's why it's important to football as a whole. That's why the gibberings of some Burnley folk are worthless.

VENKYS decided to sack him.
Shabbys contribution????? Is he the next manager?

So ignoring 2 years of **** people who admit to knowing nothing about football sack another manager and leave in charge someone who uses soundbites to appear knowledgeable who took 6 weeks to appoint a manager with no managerial experience in England on a 3 year contract worth £millions and sack him after 10 games to leave us with no manager at a crucial time just before the transfer window opens and sack 3 coaches and prepare to bring in 2 new coaches who the next manager may not want because he wants to bring in his own coaches......
Next the incurable optimists will come on telling me to give venkys more time/bring back kean/keep going to ewood to give the vekys more money and legitimise them whilst being abused by stewards because I dare to utter my thoughts about this farce and destruction of a previously well run PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB

Whilst it is obvious that the club could not continue as things are, one has to question messrs Singh and Venkys lack of consistency. Why did Steve Kean get two years and yet Henning Berg get only two months? Clearly messrs Singh and Venkys have not got a clue, so lets hope that by some miracle they make the right decision this time.

Someone on here made the comment "what about Gillingham?" against my comment that I was from Kent. He must have a crystal ball because I do indeed come the Medway Towns and I supported the Gills from 1958, and still they will always be my hometown team. However, I married a a Lancashire lady and moved to this county. I am 64, a pensioner, and support Rovers because Gillingham is too far away for me to go to Gills home games (money being the main problem). My brothers still live in Medway and one is a s/t holder at Priestfield.

I think the situation at Ewood is so sad. A magnificent stadium and club being run by idiots.

My choice for a new manager for Rovers based on experience.

Alan Curbishley has a great record or as a second choice Mark Hughes, but he has no experience at this level and his record is poor since leaving Rovers.
Don't think either would want to come here now, but they are both available and might be tempted knowing they could bring their own back room staff in with them.
Or poach someone like Neil warnock.

What a bunch of 'Asiatic Wallies'!!!
Run a football club? They couldn't run a bloody bath!!! and as for the Court Jester - Singh, words fail me. Venkys were bang out of order by giving Kean 2 years reign in which he single handedly destroyed the same side that Big Sam kept us in the top half of the Premiership with. They sat back and watched him take us down to the Championship and the only thing that they ever did was heap praise on him. When they did finaly see the light it was too late as far too much damage had been done. They brought in Berg who by the way wasn't the best candidiate but was a name who the majority of the fans could relate to plus it was said that he 'knew the club'. *Correction* - he knew the club back in the 90's but todays club was totally unrecognisable from that era and after what he had previously said of the owners and their style of management / ownership I for one was amazed when he was appointed as manager and on that point alone I hold Berg accountable for his own demise! As for a new decent manager, dont hold your breath folks!!

That just sums it up.

His sister wasn't lying either. He does know alot about football - compared to her or a wheelie bin....

Someone needs to explain to him we didn't sign Ronaldinho after all and things have got so outrageously bad there are clubs no ones ever heard of such as Bonleh and Bonleh who are above us in the league.

Then they should be sent to prison for ever.

That's why he was sacked before the window. They will appoint after it closes and say that is why we couldn't spend any money during the window...no manager. Not to worry we will buy in the summer to get out of div 1.

I have not commented at all until now i used to watch Rovers when i worked in the north when Terry Gennoe and co were playing. I have followed Rovers since i moved back to the south west and i cannot comprehend what has happened.
On the manager i think the choice should be Mark Robbins who is managing Coventry City he has turned a club around who is being run nearly as badly. He has got them playing good football and turned the club around and he has done well . he also doesnt take interference from the board.
Rovers need a hungry manager and i think Mark Robbins is the man i do not think we should go back to Mark Hughes . He is managed by Kia Joorabchian now do Rovers want the likes of him i personally do not and think we need a hungry young manager i think Mark Robbins fills the bill.

I hate to say it, but at the time of his appointment I did say it was a bad choice of manager and that he wouldn't last, I just didn't expect it to be this quick.

I can't see Hughes coming and agreeing to work under the Venkys & Shabby Minge, he will want top dollar and the big contract and transfer kitty to match.

Yet another embarrassing chapter on our club. Until we get rid of the Venkys and shabby minge, things won't get much better soon.

They've already got their man HSB, it won't be long until its announced methinks.

There's a whole load of rumours flying around, mostly from twitter - and I suspect deliberately to wind up fans from those sad cretins who have no lives. I'd ignore them.

As far as anyone knows, neither the appointment of McDonald as coach or Shebby taking over or any appointments have been announced by Venky's. Its mostly twitter gossip by twits (or should that be tw@ts?).

Times of India are not a very credible source for rumours. If I recollect they also reprinted ESPN's "scoop" that Redknapp had shown interest last time around? Fat lot of truth that turned out to be.

I'd just switch off the rumours until Andy prints it here - at least its more likely to be an official statement.

Suggestion wise, if this was 5 months ago, i'd of said Larsson/Solksjaer/Tu gay however because we're in this position, I'd suggest someone with Championship experience.
A good team with stability? You are joking aren't you?

Souness had done magnificently but he had gone past his sell by date. It happens. All this rubbish about keeping a manager for all eternity automatically means they will be successful is absolute bo!!ocks. We couldn't score and were conceding bucket loads - not a great combination. As well as he had done (and he had done very, very well), his time was coming to an end; in truth, Newcastle did us a favour.

Hughes was outstanding at Blackburn and didn't do too badly at Fulham; quite well I would say. It just seems he gets a bit giddy when there's a lot of cash flying around. His stock has fallen but I doubt very much he would want to leave what's left of his reputation in the hands of these idiots. Similarly someone like OGS wouldn't touch the job with a barge pole for the damage it could do to him starting out in management.

Frankly, I have no idea who it will be. I can't think of anyone worth their salt who would want to work for these "people" and those who would must be so desperate for a job we wouldn't really want them. It's a kind of Catch 22.

Singh to take temporary charge then be announced permanent manager - sound familiar? I apologise if that makes any of you wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night but we simply can't discount any hair brained, half a$$ed masterplan emerging from the 500 vehicle car crash pretending to be Blackburn Rovers.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

Rovers fans were amongst the best in the world until Glen Mullen and his cronies destroyed our reputation last season.

The atmosphere at the club has never recovered from those terrible examples of how not to support a football club, Chelsea, Bolton, West Brom, etc; etc.

Perhaps Glen Mullen should apply for the job next, he's well in with Shebby now so there shouldn't be any problems with interference should there?
Mullen is still at it with his clueless band of pledge warriors.

10 quid now buys you exclusive membership rights to more spurious cr@p from the Trust that thinks its fit to run a club. These idiots couldn't organise a pee up in a brewery without infighting, politics, whatnot.

We've become a laughing stock because they couldn't help themselves and they're STILL at it. Venky's may have made collossal mistakes, but they are the only ones who can get us out of this mire - and they owe it to us, the legacy of Jack and the history of thr club they helped dismantle and themselves to make it right.
Couldn't have put it better myself, it's hard to figure out who are the biggest set of tossers, Mullen's mob, or Venky's, it's a close run thing but my vote goes to Mullen's mob who pretend to be fans but probably cost us between 9 and 12 points last season because of their total hatred of Kean.

Venky's simply didn't have a bloody clue when they took over and in reality still don't, but what Mullen's mob did was totally unforgivable.

They gave visiting teams and fans the leg up that they needed to take home points away from my team, my club.

For that reason I hate them more than they hated Kean.

I have withdrawn my pledge, which was an awful lot more than £10 from BRSIT and although I agree in principle what they are attempting to achieve is right I won't have anything whatsoever to do with them while Mullen is involved.

And it sickened me to hear Mullen spouting off on 5 Live today, it really did.

It will take an hell of a lot of convincing for me to even consider going back to them while he and his cronies have anything at all to do with BRSIT.

I agree, the "Vermin" in India as you call them are totally at fault but Mullen's mob carry a huge slice of responsibility for our relegation last season.

I want Shebby out, I want Venky's out, but I am experienced and realistic enough to understand that if Venky's pull the plug it really is the end of the club I have supported all those years.

Putting myself in their position I would cut my losses and run.

And don't cut and paste quotes from someone else, at least have the decency to come up with original thoughts of your own, not some Godforsaken hack down south.

I go to every game, I have missed no more than 10 games in over 40 years and I have never, ever seen such deplorable behaviour from Rovers fans as I saw last season.

The players were affected and once our opponents went ahead the bile intensified and their heads went down.

I am not against fans venting their frustration at poor performances after a game, I am more than capable of doing that myself, but organised hatred lead by Mullen?

That my friend was totally unacceptable, it's you who needs to get a grip
