CLARETS manager Sean Dyche has revealed newcomer Dane Richards will have a settling in period before he is introduced to the first team.
The former Vancouver Whitecaps winger met new team-mates and management at Burnley’s Gawthorpe training base yesterday.
But even though the 29-year-old Jamaican international is not eligible to play until January 1, he has arrived early so that he can put the hard yards in behind the scenes and get up to speed for the New Year.
“He is here to give him a look at the environment, get himself familiar with the place and the faces around as he slowly beds himself in for what comes next,” said Dyche. “It’s a big change for him in a lot of ways, so it will have to be slowly but surely.”
Dyche expects any further signings during the transfer window to be on loan, saying: “At this stage I don’t think we will be doing too much business in January.”
