I can fully understand why Rovers want to off-load PR - really he should have gone in summer.

But why are they taking the opposite attitude to MF - here is a big wage earner (he cost £3.5m) - a player who has massively UNDER-PERFORMED, he has made it quite clear he want to leave the club for the last year (his wife and daughter both remain in Argentina) and he has the speed of a 3 legged tortoise with arthritis - surely he is exactly the type of under-performing, light-weight, over-paid loser that we should be trying to get rid off - him and another 20 or so in my opinion.

Is this is not more evidence of desperation by the so called Management at Ewood to cut costs at any price.

Promtion - decisive action - nobody wants to come to Ewood and those in can not wait to get out Shebby

As if I couldn't be more disillusioned by Venkys reign at Rovers,this one disgusts me. I cant argue that in some games Iv thought Robinson could have done better, but Iv thought the same about the rest of the players. This is nothing to do with his form or ability. Its the Salgado/Roberts/Samb

Shebby can run the rule over them, pick out the best and save a fortune in wages. As they will be local lads they will have a heart for the club so play with passion and desire if not skill. exactly i wouldnt be bothered if the players were rubbish as long as there is passion but sadly this lot have none! as for robbo i think it is the right decision decent bloke but simply not been performing good enough for me we should have kept bunn.

I don't know Friedel, but I'm sure he wouldn't come back to Rovers. Last season he was dismayed at the shenanigans. He is a sensible guy. He has no reason or motive whatsoever to get into anything like that. It's just another of Shebby Singh's lunatic ideas. If I had a choice between Robinson and Friedel I would choose Robinson.

This is a load of tosh they will listen to offers but his career might not be over at Blackburn. Another top class player to be replaced by players not as good. At the same time players who have been rubbish are being kept. Robinson has not been to blame for bad team performances. This a continuation of last years policy to ship the best players out and a time when we are supposed to be pushing for promotion. This crazy logic of Venky's continues and shows no sign of ever changing even though it is plainly obvious that they are taking us to the bottom. A move like this would only make some sort of sense for the Manager if Brad came back, but if he doesn't we will be sunk. No manager will survive with the sort of rubbish coming out of this club at the moment. Why did Venky's pick on us.

Anybody who thinks we will be better off with Brad Friedel is as daft as Shebby Singh. He isnt even playing first team football. He's 41. He's used to playing with a decent team in front of him. Any goalkeeper would struggle behind that back 4 and midfield. Robinson has been loyal and this is no way to treat him. Whether he is going to feature or not, he deserves some respect. Instead the numptys let the media know that they are partly blaming him for results and that a 41 year old reserve goalkeeper is a better option!! No wonder the players have no passion. Stop blaming the players. They are working for complete amateur employers who have football at the bottom of their list. Can you imagine Tom Cruise putting on a good performance with Graham Norton directing his film?

Agree everything that is going on behind the scenes is an absolute farce but to say stop blaming the players is a statement that Shebby would come out with. Apart from one or two players they are all way underperfoming! It is an absolute joke watching some of these performances, yes the manager is partly to blame with his tactics but the effort they put in is way short of abysmal.

Same old same old. Jake K may be a prospect for the future but our concern is with the present. If we are to have any chance of clawing our way in to the play offs we need to retain our better players. I went to Blackpool and JK was like a rabiit in the headlights at times and certainly didn't instill confidence into what is already in my mind one of the worst of not the worst defence units i have seen at rovers. Robbo is a qulaity keeper and one who would be up for the battle. Whilst on that subject Dixon Etuhu- why?

Robinsons always had a higher opinion of himself than he deserved. At best average, at worst a liability, always getting beaten on his near post & his inability to come for crosses is worrying.
Not fit to lace Brads boots but that may be down to Mimms coaching , another average keeper. Remember he was nicknamed Booby Mimms & always played 2nd fiddle to Flowers.
Robinson never comes to meet the fans in the hospitality suite after games, takes a huge wage out of Lancashire, but maintains his allegiance & loyalties to the wrong coloured rose. A typical dour yorkshireman, who's only been in it for himself ( Tony Parkes is an exception to that rule, but Batty was the same)
I won't be sorry to see the back of him, but its yet another cost cutting exercise, another big earner off the wage bill & more evidence the club is being run like a corner shop by people who are experts in that mentality.
Bergs just another puppet in the Punch&Judy show that's on fortnightly at Ewood these days. Fast loosing respect for him too, good player, clueless manager or maybe more accurately a figurehead manager who's happy enough to take the wages,have his strings pulled but has no power. Won't be long before he'll be taking the abuse from fans just like Kean did but sadly again its aimed at the wrong people. Delegation (aka getting others to your dirty work) is the most over used tool in most successful businesses and don't forget as much of a bunch of @rseholes Venkeys are, you don't build a business like theirs by being nice to people. They get mugs to lift their head above the parapet & take the bullets. Don't forget a moving target or in their case an invisible one is very hard or impossible to hit.
Why's it took some fans so long to see this? The writing was on the wall when I saw that slimy little git and his drug dealer lookalike brother on the pitch at Ewood after the takeover.
This club will go nowhere until those crooks are out of the picture. How far we'll have been dragged down by that point is anybodys guess?

A continuation of policy from last season.and it seems Venkys haven't learned from their mistakes last year.

Or perhaps they know exactly what they are doing, but simply don't care how far we fall.

Robbo out? Well probably the right decision for all sorts of reasons - age, ability, desire, wages - but this decision should have been made at the start of the season. Jake Kean does seem a little nervous in goal now but he has undoubted goalkeeping talent and ability and should gain experience and confidence quickly if he is behind a decent defense - so we need to get a good CB in quick now to support Kean and help strengthen the back line.

A fair decision by Berg to make the change. Friedel won't be released by Spurs so will not be coming to Ewood anyway so that is nothing to do with the change of keeper situation.

Be honest I don't think anyone can quite appreciate the situation going on at Ewood till they are in it,maybe Berg thought that although he new things were not right he could come in and turn them round,surely it coulld not be as bad as it was painted,but then on taking the job and after a few weeks he realises that, bloody hell it's worse than I imagined and shaggy has Bullsh!ted me up to my neck,nothing is going to alter while this shower are in charge,it's reported that there is growing concern in India that we are not going up this time or anytime soon,but still no statement from them what sort of owners would treat their fans like this bloody ignoramuses.

Spot on the defence midfield have been shocking for along time now i think robbo has lost confidence in his own defence over the last 18 months and at that lost his own form.This gives venkys the opportunity to cash in again asthey will with one or too more this jan. What posessed them, amongst all their carnage to do it? It just doesn't make sense, even for them! Does anyone have a sensible explanation?

I agree Robinson is still a good Premiership keeper and I think there would be no controversy if Freidal had never been mentioned a couple of weeks ago.Im sure this is the reason Robinsons unsettled and wants out himself.Lets face it ,as good as Freidal Has been and is this season,father time waits for no one,and Robison would have still been no 1.My opinion is as simple as that,no conspircy theories,just ego.

You are wrong. It isn't the right decision. The right decision would have been to know this at summer and go about transfers in a proper professional manner and not by Berg suggesting in his interview that Robinson has been dropped to see if results improve and then it being leaked that the club will listen to offers for him. It's all shabby management. Robinson has probably said he wants out. I dont know how he has stuck it that long. He was always with the fans during the protests and I imagine he has been earmarked as a trouble maker like some of the others and they want shut.

Robinson is a decent keeper, but not great... He isn't calm enough or vocal enough getting his defenders into the right positions. He has been coasting at Rovers since Allardyce left.

Friedel is 41, maybe a season and a bit left... But Jake Kean is VERY good so Friedel would be an ideal stop-gap and rolemodel while Kean develops.

Therefore, selling Robbo now while he still has some value is a good move. I'm happy with this proposed change, it's obviously well considered.

ps. I'm pretty appalled by the comments from a lot of you on here, frankly Berg inherited a huge pile of carp from Kean and a team with absolutely zero confidence. He needs time to rebuild, and he needs to dramatically change the personnel in January... He also needs support from us all, criticism now is not helpful and will only make the situation worse. Kean is gone, we are stuck with Venkys so let's try and make the most of what is a bad situation.

I can tell you from personal experience that working for incompetent bosses is a perpetual nightmare and over a long period has a very negative effect even on the most professional people. They might be professional footballers on big wages, but they are human too and the last 2 years for the players who have been with us, have been c##p. We have no idea what goes on behind the scenes and especially in training and before the game. There might be arguments, Shebby interfering, players disagreeing with team selection or tactics. What you see on the field isnt the totality. My son worked at Blackburn Rovers and he left after becoming ill. It is rotten right through.

I do, every home game and that's why I am entitled to my opinion. From what I read, most people are behind their team but desperate to be rid of Venkys and Singh. That doesnt make them non-supporters. It makes them supporters who want the best for their club.

Vebky's still do not understand anything about football. Robinson could earn a fee and they could reduce the wages bill. This is why we are no longer in the prem. and will never return.
Cash in on anybody and keep the cheap players. My money says Berg has somebody else picking the team for him. He was a good defender and will know that Givet is the best defender on the books. So why leave him out? Because he is a high earner still worth a bit of a fee to some other team. So, upset him, give us all a chance to forget him and sell him on. We are going to continue to sink. Venkys are unable or unwilling to spend at the level required by modern football. Maybe when we are near the bottom of League 1 next season and there is no one or anything left to flog they will slink back to India and mybe tyhen someone can start to rebuild the club.

So much hatred to a keeper that was one of our best players the season we stayed up!
No keeper would look decent with Scott Dann in front of them.

Yes the reason and the answer are v simple..... they can re-sell at a profit....IMHO the Venkys bought BRFC in order to make money and promote their dodgy chicken business. It's clear that they been led "down the garden path by agents.... JA being a prime example" But I doubt they being hoodwinked any more... Hence the sale of all senior PL players... when there is nothing left to sell BRFC will be dropped like a hot rock.... My only hope is that this happens before there is nothing left to resurrect... Probably because Rhodes will be worth more next summer than we paid for him and he will be sold for a profit.

Not vocal , are you having a laugh. He is constantly shouting instructions to the defenders . Robinson shows more passion than the rest of them put together , and I include the manager and coaches in that.

I think the truth is Kean and his advisers told Venkys that the squad was so good that we would walk this league with a decent striker. ABOUT TIME ROBBINSON WAS OUT.. Hes a liability at best.. most over rated keeper in England and always wants to kick the ball never to come out to catch it.. THFC fans think he was poor I agree after his overrated performances of the last two seasons.. one good week where he dives and makes easy saves look spectacular when he should be catching the ball is enough to tell a blind manager this guy needs the front door..

Just when you think things cant get any worse. How much further can these people drag our club down ?

Does anyone remember the day we got relegated and how our whole team ran down the tunnel as the fans came on the pitch? Robbo was the only player and captain at the time that bothered to come over and clap the fans and I think he has always given his best for us, it is just sadly his best has not been good enough of late. I just worry as in the past we have heard rumours of replacements coming in and then nothing happens. Also players that cant get into our team and are supposedly past it are now playing in the premier league instead - Bunn and Nelson to name just two.

The major problem is our defence, it is completely lackluster and more holes in at that a piece of edam! It is beyond farcical how unfit our players actually are, I cant remember the last time we looked as if we could last the whole 90 and look at how many points we have already thrown away in the final minutes. All I can do is sit and watch as we degenerate deeper into the abyss!

Berg doesn't look like he has a lot of hope and let's face it he has been poor so far, we just have to pray for a mini revival over the Christmas period. There are four vital upcoming games and if can start by beating Brighton that could spark some life back into the side. Poyets men will be really tough to beat so whoever Berg picks has to be focused from the 1st minute until the 90+ minute. The best way would be to start by maybe miraculously keeping a clean sheet?! Wonders will never cease!

Anyone who thinks Venkys are "concerned" needs to take a step back and have a think about things. They have consistently sold our best/most saleable assets and replaced them with inferior players. A sure fire recipe for the position we are now in and i'm afraid the only way from here is downwards.
Venkys sole intention is to make what money they can from the club, bleed it dry, and eventually sell-up. I don't know the position regarding Brockhall, but wouldn't be surprised if it isn't the jewel in their money-making crown. They are not amateurs or clueless, but they are cynical and calculating. What other explanation is there for the catalogue of diabolical decisions they have taken since their arrival. Always remember they promised to take this club forward. What a sick joke!

imo robinson has been a vastly overrated keeper his entire career. i for one believe replacing him IS a necessity.

If Venkys don't back Berg with substantial funds in this transfer window, it is 100% clear to me that they NEVER will do.
How many chances have they had in the previous transfer windows to do their best for the club but have NEVER delivered. ( the Samba sale paid for Rhodes )

Dont quote me on this fella but am i right in saying that as some suggest on here venkys have already paid out substantial money by the 8 million for roads but three million of that was to be paid in full on BRFC being promoted a PL club once again next season the rest of the money to be paid in large installments over two years,taking that now we will not be promoted to PL,we have not or venkys have not actually paid anything like 8million pounds up front or other wise for Roads, and are unlikely to in the coming seasons as we will still be in this or a lower league?anyone like to clear my confusion on this cheers

Formica is slow but the Cardiff game was a prime example of how when he leaves the pitch the chance creation goes out the window. If we sell Formica we might aswell sell Rhodes because he won't be touching the ball again all season.

l dont think he is,,he is probably too comfortable like quite a few of the players ,but lm afraid we have problems all over the shop..perticularly in defence, this area has been neglected far too long, we have not replaced quality defenders with quality, its that simple, but again there is one very big problem which is very difficult to remedy,,the inept owners and its whole ,,,
