Second-half goals from James Constable and Peter Leven ended Accrington Stanley’s FA Cup dream at the Kassam Stadium.
The Crown Ground club were hoping for a repeat of their famous run in the competition in 2009-10, when they reached the fourth round before bowing out to Fulham.
But Constable’s header from a corner midway through the second half and a fine volley by Leven settled this second-round replay and earned fellow League Two side Oxford a lucrative third round tie at home to League One high-fliers Sheffield United next month.
