BURNLEY manager Sean Dyche said he was again left scratching his head as to how his team had come away from another game with a point when he felt it should have been three.

A 1-1 draw at home to Watford, in which Charlie Austin scored his 22nd goal of the season from the spot to cancel out Nathaniel Chabolah's 10th minute opener, was the Clarets' third in four outings, and the second time they had been forced to come from behind to earn it.

But as with their previous home game, against rivals Blackburn Rovers, Dyche felt they had plenty of opportunities to seal a win but found goalkeeper Manuel Almunia in almost unbeatable form.

However, the Burnley boss he is confident it is only a matter of time before they can add that finishing touch and start picking up the results he feels their performances are warranting.

“I think it’s fair to say we are very unfortunate not to have won the game,” said Dyche.

“The manner of the way we went about our business again today, after a very dominant performance against Blackburn, was terrific.

“We created more than enough chances to win the game and Almunia has made several very good saves.

“It just sticks in your throat because you end up wondering how many more games you can dominate and play well, and not win.

“We are right on the cusp of it, but it’s important that we go that extra yard to make sure we do that.”

“Yet again our fans were excellent in their backing and support because they see there are really positive signs here.

“You have to think if we keep doing that we will win plenty of football matches.”
