Rovers get shirt sponsor

Blackburn Rovers have announced a new commercial partnership with PROBIZ Excellence Ltd.

In a unique deal for the club, PROBIZ will be shirt sponsors for tomorrow’s npower Championship match away to Blackpool and at home to Brighton next Saturday. They will then revert to the back of shirt space from Boxing Day onwards.

PROBIZ is a business-to-business brand focussing on wealth management and accountancy-based solutions. Rovers will work very closely with PROBIZ on a range of opportunities with the intent of a medium-to-long term relationship.

Greg Coar, Head of Commercial and Marketing at Rovers, said: “It’s fantastic to welcome PROBIZ on board. They have been involved in sport – football, cricket and rugby league – for some time and their understanding of the power of sport as a vehicle to gain awareness for their brand has made our conversations productive.

“It also helps that their founder and owner, Feisal Nahaboo, was born in Blackburn – so this is also a powerful personal project for him.”

Feisal said: "I have been very fortunate to achieve many financial and strategic dreams with my business PROBIZ. I was working at the back of an ex-council house a decade ago watching and cheering on Blackburn Rovers on TV.

"To be in dialogue with Blackburn Rovers is an achievement in itself, never mind to be on the front of the shirt for tomorrow’s match against Blackpool.

“It is an emotional day for me personally and I know my 400 accountancy firms and many of their clients will back this commercial move and become new fans of the club.

" I wish the club tremendous ongoing success and I'm proud to be an instrumental part of the club that represents my place of birth. It's nice to be back home."

At first look this seems like a decent sponsorship from a financial advisory type company with the bonus of the guy being born in Blackburn. They also are reputed to have sponsor links with West Brom, Wolves and Sheff United plus Lancashire and Hampshire County Cricket Clubs plus numerous top Rugby League clubs.

I guess the reason they will only have the their name on the 'front' of the shirt for two games is that the front is the 'premium cost' space for any sponsor and Probiz may not be able to afford that sum. But they will be on the back of the shirt for the rest of the season it seems. That's the Riverside and part of the shirt sponsored now...were getting there albeit very slowly..

Whilst I agree that any revenue is welcome revenue I do find this particular arrangement to be slightly peculiar. Having a sponsor's name emblazoned across the front of the shirt for two games, then 'shoe-horned' somewhere onto the back, only serves to draw attention to the circus that the club has become.

Are they hoping to do this with other companies? If so, our shirt will no longer be a symbol of the club, just another advertisement hoarding. Like an old, well-travelled suitcase, it'll be adorned with 'stickers' of little known 'places' that it had once spent a fortnight in. I know lots of clubs in other countries have several sponsors on their shirts but they have them in place at the same time. They don't start collecting them like Boy Scouts earning their badges.

Of course this may not be the case and Venky's haven't got anybody else lined up to pay Premier League prices for Championship advertising. It'll explain why Shebby Singh failed to mention PROBIZ when questioned about shirt sponsorship a few days ago - it would have led to even more questions that he couldn't answer.

I don't think it's a case of PROBIZ only wanting to have their name on the shirt for two games, it's probably a case of Venky's expecting too much money from relatively small companies.

Poverty in India is widespread, with the nation estimated to have a third of the world's poor.
In 2010, World Bank stated, 32.7% of the total Indian people fall below the international poverty line of US$ 1.25 per day (PPP) while 68.7% live on less than US$ 2 per day.[

"India WAS a third world country" You say.

Why is it then that 68% of Indian people are STILL surviving on less than £2 a day ?

Read this.

Poverty in India is widespread, with the nation estimated to have a third of the world's poor. In 2010, World Bank stated, 32.7% of the total Indian people fall below the international poverty line of US$ 1.25 per day (PPP) while 68.7% live on less than US$ 2 per day.

According to 2010 data from the United Nations Development Programme, an estimated 37.2% of Indians live below the country's national poverty line. A 2010 report by the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) states that 8 Indian states have more poor people than 26 poorest African nations combined which totals to more than 410 million poor in the poorest African countries.

According to a new poverty Development Goals Report, as many as 320 million people in India and China are expected to come out of extreme poverty in the next four years, while India's poverty rate is projected to drop to 22% in 2015. The report also indicates that in Southern Asia, however, only India, where the poverty rate is projected to fall from 51% in 1990 to about 22% in 2015, is on track to cut poverty in half by the 2015 target date.

The latest UNICEF data shows that one in three malnourished children worldwide are found In India, whilst 42 percent of the nation's children under five years of age are underweight. It also shows that a total of 58 percent of children under five surveyed were stunted. Rohini Mukherjee, of the Naadi foundation-one of the NGO's that published the report-stated India is "doing worse than sub-Saharan Africa,".

The 2011 Global Hunger Index (GHI) Report places India amongst the three countries where the GHI between 1996 and 2011 went up from 22.9 to 23.7, while 78 out of the 81 developing countries studied, including Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Kenya, Nigeria, Myanmar, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Malawi, succeeded in improving hunger condition.

India is now called a emerging economy check your facts and a BRIC economy the fastest growing econmy in the world.India's economy will be larger than Germany,Japan,UK and Brazil in 2025.India has over 400 million people on poverty because of the second largest population in the world with 1.2 billion people. Indian Government is trying to lift some 30 million out of poverty every year by providing jobs, homes, food, educ
ation etc etc. This is a huge challenge India is facing trying to eradicate poverty .Ask yourself that why is this British Government ending £300 million in economic aid to India in 2015 ? because India's economy is one the biggest economy in the world and the fastest growing economy in the world.Forget your stats those countries you have mentioned like the ones in Africa and others in Asia cannot live without foriegn aid money now or in 20 years time.India no longer needs foreign aid money as it's economy is one of the largest.India still faces tough challenge ahead o tackle poverty as you have mentioned.

The issue is why is the team underperforming. The squad is good enough to be in top 6. Why is ther no fight in the belly of players except a few like kazim richards. I saw bit of sheffield united game on TV tonight and the players from both teams fought for every ball. Why is it that every time a corner or free kick against rovers end in a goal. Can players not head balls out.

There are 1 billion slum dwellers worldwide and 93 million slum dwellers in India wih a population over 1.2 billion. What do you mean by India will break into many countries by 2025? India is the beacon of democracy to the world.
India has the fourth biggest military might in the world and the only country to counterbalance evil communist China's military threats to rest of Asian continent and beyond.India does not harbor terrorist groups and India was a victim of terrorist attack in Mumbai in 2008.Like USA and Nato fightin terrorist groups worldwide ,India is fighting various terrorist groups on it's border with Pakistan and China.

Most of the slum dwellers live in India, that's why Mumbai is called Slumbay! Did you more than half of india's population don't have toilets! You call that beacon of democracy! Why is China evil just because they gave the Indian army a hiding in the 60's and Pakistan gave you a hiding in 1965. China is way ahead of India. A third of the worlds poor live in India- that's a few examples of Shining India.

modan,

Why is it then that 68% of Indian people are STILL surviving on less than £2 a day ?

India is a rich country with 400 mllion poor people with a population of 1.2 billion, because of inequality which could sorted by Indian authorities if it took more seriously. This is biggest challenge India faces is to tackle poverty and inequality by 2025 .

India defeated Pakistan three times .Pakistan has no icbms no satellites in space infact Pakistan has no space pogram at all.The Mumbai attack was condemed by Pakistani Governent. But we all know Pakistan has many terrorist groups in that country.Even Bin Laden was found in Pakistan.Pakistan is an epi centre of world terorrism..The American has made hundreds of attacks in Northwest Pakistan using drones to kill thousand of terrorists hiding in that area of Pakistan. So there is no need for India to take military action. You are so naive that if you think India won't take military action ,India will destroy Pakistan within days with it's military might. In many years Israel wanted to send warplanes to destroy Pakistan only Nuclear plant but India stopped Israel from such action.Pakistan is a poor country it's economy is smaller than that of island of Singapore .Check your facts that Pakistan gets Billions of Dollars in economic aid to help their poor economy from rich West.Lastly China has made no threats to India since 1960s and no other country has ever made a threat to a Superpower INDIA snce India became a Nuclear power with icbms and satellites and rockets India sends into Space every year.NO countries should mess with four biggest military super powers in the world USA,Russia,China and India .

If India's army is so brave why didn't they attack Pakistan after Mumbai attacks? but instead they went crying to America to help you fight Pak. Best sponsorship deal in history. An unheard of company that can only afford to sponsor a shirt for 2 games.

Is this what we've come to?

Who is sponsoring the shirt on boxing day? Roe Lee Chippy?
