Blackburn Rovers wait on duo

BLACKBURN Rovers will assess the fitness of Danny Murphy and David Dunn ahead of Saturday’s Championship trip to Blackpool.

The duo missed last week’s 4-1 home defeat to Cardiff City because of injury and Rovers will make a late decision on their availability.

Nuno Gomes is expected to miss out once more with a hamstring problem.

well with a bit of luck Murphy will still be incapable of playing.

Damm, he has been in that state since the day he signed.

Dunny it's time you retired mate as you are physically not fit for purpose. The club could put the money to better use on a player that could give some service and a proper contribution to the clubs promotion push.

Murphy - don't care. Dunny - don't really care. Nuno Gomez - REALLY CARE. He must be the most underrated player to ever grace Ewood park? Frankly I can't understand why when hes fit he isnt automatically on the team sheet. Hes not a little fattie like CKR, im sure he can manage 60-90 mins per game.

Nuno Gomes is a big miss at the moment. Him & Rhodes were playing well together.
Dunny is a loyal servant to the club and should be reconised as that. He is Blue& White and respected for that. He does Charity work etc. and is good for the club. However, I think he is more suited now as an impact player, someone to turn the match round at half time if we need it - God at the moment we need it!

So the squad is that desperate that we are pinning our hopes on a as been and a non starter even when he manages to make some sort of appearance he's already short of match practice, can you imagine a proper set up building a team round this scenario, totally unprofessional

The easiest assessment a manager's ever had to make? It's up there.

On a par with asking if Neville Southall and Bruce Grobellar could meet modern PL fitness standards.

On another note, I agree: get Nuno Gomes out on that field asap, get him starting games and let's actually make use of what could be the best strike partnership in the league if it was given a proper chance.

I'm afraid to say the gates will continue to fall if things don't improve. People won't continue to spend good money watching the stuff that's being served up at the moment.

A few wins and in the playoff position and all the happy scarf wavers will be back don't worry.

I almost want us to get promoted to see how many whinging moaners skulk back pretending they never left lol.

We are where we are with the fans that we have and regardless of what the "I was there in the black and white days" brigade come out with, we were never going to keep more than 15k gates after relegation, so theirs about 2k or so we could tease back if Venky's brought in the right people and we started playing better.

We will only see those 20k+ gates if we get promoted, and that, is a just a sad fact we have to get used to.

Proper fans then! Our tickets are massively subsidised, so really it comes down to being a supporter of the club. If you can't support the regime then that's another matter, maybe it's time that someone started up a fans team, like a Rovers FC and they could ground share with Langho Juniors!

Hmmm Ryan Giggs won player of the year at the age of 36 and only started 12 league games. If we get 25 appearances from Dunny that'll be enough to warrant his presence, which we're in desperate need of. Danny on the other hand who doesn't struggle with injuries quite the same, perhaps due to a lack of any direct or incisive movement, could possibly be used as spare parts for Dunny, thus not rendering him entirely useless. (That may be a little harsh, Murphy will probably play better alongside Dunny, allowing Lowe to do the graft.) Stefjam you're generalisation is bang on, some people for whatever reason though will take it as a personal attack, something to do with hyper-critical parents, narcissus complex, summat along those lines. Perhaps in future you should reference seat numbers to avoid misdirection!

Hendry joined Rovers or should I say joined up with his drinking pal Steve Kean ,Hendry`s quote when joining was " I`ve come back here so sort the defence out my job is to stop it leaking in goals" well he failed miserably at that and instead of sacking him they have demoted him to assistant to the reserve team manager ,the lowest coaching job at Rovers so I suppose thatshows us all what they think of him.
Apparently his wages have not been dropped he has just recently moved into a massive 2 acre mansion with it`s own swimming pool in Division Lane the most expensive properties in the area , so he must be still on his 8,000 pounds a week , and he is still under bankruptcy administration ! there is definately something amiss and in fact corrupt at Rovers , this need investigating.

Just some information for the clueless Venkys and their puppet Shebby.
Unless you play the best players available to you, you will go nowhere.
Freezing out good players, and not playing others for non footballing reasons is completely unprofessional and ridiculous. No manager can suceed under such circumstances. The Venkys need to wake up and realise why the club has gone into free fall since they took over. From 11th in the premier to 13th in the championship in the space of just over 2 years. Well done. This is after stupid statements such as top 6 in 3 season and Champions league football in 5 seasons. What a bunch of fruit cakes.

The club has again missed a trick with the pricing of the cup game against bristol city £20 for blackburn end with season ticket holders £15. Will be lucky to get 8,000 on with those prices bearing in mind the home form and performances of late. At the brainstormin meeting earlier in the week why not consider putting prices at £10 would have boosted the gate.

We need an exiting player and listening to Berg I dont think he has much idea or finances to bring in someone who can create things in midfield. We need to drop Lowe although young and full of energy someone has told him to always keep the ball which seems to mean he passes it back all the time.Murphy does try to get the ball forward but hasnt got the legs to run any distance at speed with it.We are therefore crying out for a Stuart Ripley type winger with pace to create the openings. So for christmas we need to get rid of our central defenders and invest the money if any in either loanees a winger or purchases of good strong CBs who dont panic and can head the ball.

Let me make my comment clearer, picking on individuals on the pitch is not going to help, what has been an utter shambolic running of a once excellent FC by the Venks, Kean & whoever has the misfortune to now be involved. I to have more or less given up. I see our only hope is that Venkys sell on at some point, hopefully soon.
