AN end-to-end first half has ended goalless at the City Ground.
Martin Paterson came the closest to breaking the deadlock for the Clarets, who are bidding to stay unbeaten for a fourth game.
The striker looked to have got the better of Lee Camp with his drive from the left hand edge of the box, but was denied by the left hand post.
Chris McCann went close on the counter after Dexter Blackstock headed into Lee Grant's hands Paterson took aim again as the half drew to a close, and Charlie Austin's got his toe on the effort in an attempt to divert it in, but Camp was on hand to make the save, with left back Dan Harding clearing the loose ball.
Forest enjoyed spells of pressure but couldn't convert possession and chances - albeit mostly half chances - into goals either.
