Andy Warn completed the double by winning the BEST Centre Champions League finishing the year as the town’s number one table tennis player.
Despite a few scares and shocks along the way there was never any doubt as to where the title would go.
“The Monday table tennis is a really great way to enjoy the game in a friendly but competitive nature.,” said the newly crowned champion. “You can see all the players are really improving so next year I predict it will prove really difficult to retain the trophies.”
In the second tier Europa League, Steve Cochrane showed all his experience to take the title and promotion to the Champions League.
Danny Scanlin also gained promotion to the big league which starts in the new year.
Most Improved Player Award went to Nik Tucker who finished mid table in the Champions League despite finishing in the bottom three the previous season.
The Table Tennis League runs every Monday night from 7.30pm onwards.
A new league is starting in the New Year with new players already waiting in the wings.
