I hope the staff and players do the fans justice for their loyalty. I also hope Berg puts out a team to win the game ie 4-4-2 instead of leaving Rhodes isolated up front!!

I'm still in Blighty French Rover, tonight and Sunday before heading home.
Allez les bleu et blancs!
Frankly after Peterborough new born confidence but back down to earth with a bump after Saturday at home.
The squad is unbalanced and for me neither Etuhu or Murphy are individually good enough for whatever reason, never mind playing together in central midfield. Its just the dregs we are left with following the agent.
Fingers crossed we get six points from next 2 games.

Putting loyalty and banter to one side for a moment, this is the first time in a long time that I don't feel like the underdogs in this fixture. Of course nothing is guaranteed in football, anything can happen, but I'm quietly confident we're going to win this one. From what I've seen of Rovers so far this season they look a very average side with little direction, and there's still a fair amount of unrest swirling around the place which always spills over onto the pitch. As for us, well I was on the Hull game at the weekend, and was very impressed with our high tempo pressing game, and we've got more than enough attacking quality to break down a (from what I've seen) weak, disjointed, leaderless, Rovers defence.

Maybe you should save the crowing till after the game on this one.

See you Sunday, the most level the 2 teams have been for many a year. Lets hope for no diving, and a ref that let's the game go a bit, not a PL one that doesn't understand the wholehearted approach of championship football and gives a foul for blowing over an opponent.

The referee is Lee Mason who, if memory serves me correctly, sent three players off (two of ours) in a derby with Preston at the turf a few years ago.

Unfortunately Mac we've got a PL ref Lee Mason and Mike Dean another PL acting as 4th official (claretsmad site).

I agree. I've never been one for gobsh1ting about whats gonna happen and am not about to start. Keans disease was rife throughout the club and we are still smack bang in the middle of what you might call a long and drawn rehabilitation under Berg, who has improved things (it couldn't get any worse) but still has some serious work on his hands to get the best out of this Rovers squad.

The one thing in our favour is the desperation of the Bonleh fans to win a derby game. The absolute craving to beat Rovers filters down to the players and in times gone by, the Bonleh players have looked like rabbits in headlights and bottled it.......

I'll no doubt get slated for this but I would actually take a draw from this one......

Very sensible post from a Claret for once. As a Rovers fan I've never felt more nervous about a derby game with Burnley, I do think that our unbeaten record could be broken. I really hope I'm wrong but I'd take a draw if you offered it just to preserve the unbeaten status of my lifetime. Hopefully will be a good game anyway with no spoiling from the ref (who I am definatley not a fan of)

The most level for many a year?

I seem to remember Burnley coming to Ewood in October 2009 above Rovers in the table, so lets not play the 'poor Burnley have never been on a level playing field' game.

It's not banter fom your side BananaClarets! Just pure nast & hatred.Just look at the claretsmad website! Who runs it? It calls Rovers by the name B''''''''ds every sentence. Just pathetic & sad! All the site does is count down the number of tickets sold by Burnley & then refer to how many Rovers (sorry B"""""ds) have not sold. Then when sold out comically comes out with " well we would have sold out quicker! Thats why you sad people will probably coming out of the woodwork again, counting the number of coaches & asking the coppers what time the coaches are arriving because its not fair because we had to arrive 30 mins earlier than them whe we went to Ewood. Sad & pathetic just like your man Alister Campbell who can't even have a break down on channel 5 news without the mention of Rovers. The name ROVERS must really get to you!!

Not sure where that tirade came from. Was it necessary? I was merely giving my opinion on the forthcoming game. Still... hopefully you're feeling a little better now for getting it off your chest.
Lol! Yes I feel better now with that off my chest! I will feel even better if Rovers win! lol!
I was more having a go at the Burnley supporters in general! Not what you wrote BananaClaret!

Do you spend a lot of time on Claretsmad? Of course you are called b******* every sentence, thats who you are and how you are known!
.
I think there was one thread laughing at the poor ticket sales and how long it took to sell but fair play to the 3,400, ticket price + coach + time etc makes it an expensive day out and they are to be commended for their faith, its over 20% of your home attendance after all.

The referee is Lee Mason who, if memory serves me correctly, sent three players off (two of ours) in a derby with Preston at the turf a few years ago.
Probably because they deserved it. We've seen before how your players try to emulate your larger than average contingent of brain-dead fans when we come to your place. Russell trying to take Dunnys kneecaps off and that bell end out the longside having a do at Savage before Ryan Nelson stepped in and he run off chased by the big kiwi.
When will you backward inbreds realise behavior like that makes you hated by every other Lancashire club and plenty further afield.
Are the shopkeepers boarding up sat night or Sunday morning?

Frankly after Peterborough new born confidence but back down to earth with a bump after Saturday at home.
The squad is unbalanced and for me neither Etuhu or Murphy are individually good enough for whatever reason, never mind playing together in central midfield. Its just the dregs we are left with following the agent.
Fingers crossed we get six points from next 2 games.
Thats funny because I think the Burnley fans have 6 fingers crossed for 2 points from the next game.

Which one my little 6 fingered friend? We have a large contingent of well known overseas players who will go down faster, than you lot do on your sisters!
Formica (Argies are never scared of dropping for a decision),Martin Olsson (it worked last time), Nuno Gomez(got away with it in the world cup finals),to name but a few.
Pederson, Dunn, Vukevic, Rhodes and Givet, will all stay on their feet though, but I bet the names alone strike fear into the heart of you dingles. All top quality internationals coming to entertain the less fortunate from the wrong end of the M65
Can't wait for it, another chance to see how the other half live.

"They spend longer on our forum", our forum!!!! you have to use the message board on the local newspaper you fool, you haven't got your own forum!! LOL.
.
I thought I was being very conciliatory commending the fans that have made the effort to get a ticket, what didn't you like? was it the realisation that its 20% of your home attendance? or that many people find blackburn offputting?
.
You can't be denying that you are all collectively known as b******s, can you? that wouold be like me whining that its unfair that you call us dingles and its a hate crime to say we have 6 fingers! boo-hoo!! anyway I heard your sister likes the extra bonus she gets from the Burnley fans :-)

Maybe you should save the crowing till after the game on this one.[/p]
The name ROVERS must really get to you!![/p]
Do you spend a lot of time on Claretsmad? Of course you are called b******* every sentence, thats who you are and how you are known! . I think there was one thread laughing at the poor ticket sales and how long it took to sell but fair play to the 3,400, ticket price + coach + time etc makes it an expensive day out and they are to be commended for their faith, its over 20% of your home attendance after all. . Its the name Blackburn, not Rovers, that is so offputting..[/p]
I nearly showed sympathy to bananaclarets, thought bluenick was a bit O.T.T. (like a Kevin Russell tackle on Dunny 12 years ago!) on him for am honest post, then g0b5hite midas comes on and undoes it all.
MYTHS-

"We have a large contingent of well known overseas players"

"All top quality internationals"

REALITY- Tired, euro journeymen picking up a wage!

FACT - We have Europes top goal scorer.

Since April 1978/79, we beat you twice that season, we have played you lot NINE times over thirty three years we’ve drawn one and lost eight. Any one reading into the ‘three decades’, ‘how long’ and even ‘thirty four years’ would think that this derby is an annual affair. If it was a yearly clash they would be under the assumption that we have locked horns SIXTY SIX TIMES and we haven’t beaten you. As you know this is not the case, the case being you are in the championship; with championship owners, a championship management team, championship players and championship fans. The lasting legacy from Jacks tenure is your ground and that does not qualify you for a divine right for the premiership. Those heady days are a long time gone and albeit from the possibility of flirtation back with the big boys, you’re ‘back where you belong’ as the song goes. You’ve had your time like we did in the sixties when you were just ‘another’ founder of the football league along with Accy Stan. Older, pre-premiership day fans will know the point I’m making, the newly acquired ‘prem blues’ of thirty something’s will be as deluded as their thoughts that Blackburn are the East Lancs premier club. Have a good day on Sunday and from my point of view, let’s hope the Claret tide turns to add to the reality of your predicament.
