HIGH-flying Abbey Hey just had too much for Nelson as their First Division Trophy hopes were ended in the second round.
First half goals from Paul Smith and Liam were good enough to book second-placed Hey a place in the third round.
Smith opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a superb 25 yard strike before Liam Murray slide home from close range in the 26th minute.
It was a much improved performance from Nelson – who have gave debuts to Danny Finch and Daniel Johnson – after the break but could not find a way through.
