PAULA Walker maintained her impressive start to the Bobsleigh World Cup with a sixth place finish on the notorious Whistler course in Canada.
The 25-year-old from Blackburn crashed twice during practice but was on top form to seal her second sixth spot in the third race of the series.
The former St Bede’s High School pupil clocked 55.13 seconds on her first run with brakeswoman Gillian Cooke – a former World champion – and followed up with slower 54.98 on her second run.
Walker a former world junior champion, is up to eighth place in the overall rankings following her sixth place in Lake Placid and ninth in Park City.
The corporal in the Royal Signals, is next in action in two weeks time when the World Cup moves to Winterberg in Germany.
Meanwhile, Kristan Bromley was back in top form as he finished in sixth place in the Skeleton Bob World Cup.
The former world champion and double World Cup winner was looking to bounce back from his 11th place in Park City last time out.
And he did just that to move up to fifth in the rankings.
