For the second successive match, Ramsbottom United lost 2-1 in a game which they controlled.
The first half was entertaining but it took until 41 minutes had passed for Trafford to take the lead as Michael Dawson grabbed his 23rd of a the campaign.
Dominic Smalley levelled for the Rams and it seemed as though the locals were set to make a push for the points.
However, Trafford regained the lead two minutes later, in comical style, although the Rams weren’t laughing.
Two miscued efforts on goal seemed to be the saving of the visitors, but the second effort landed kindly for Luke Heron and he fired home.
