CAMERON Howieson has been reunited with the senior New Zealand squad for their international friendly with China tomorrow.

The 17-year-old midfielder has yet to make his full debut for Burnley, but has already begun to make a name for himself with his country.

After making his All Whites debut in May, in a 2-2 draw with El Salvador on their tour of America, and going on to take part in their Oceania Round Two qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup the following month, Howieson then featured in the Olympic Games for the All Whites.

He played against Brazil, Egypt and Belarus in their London 2012 group games.

As a result of his hectic summer schedule, the youngster was given a month off to recover, before returning to the club’s Gawthorpe training base to embark on his first full season with the Clarets.

Howieson, who came off the bench to make his Burnley debut against Birmingham City towards the end of last season, has yet to feature in the 18-man squad this term.

But he is back on international duty this week, and flew out to Shanghai yesterday to meet up with rest of the New Zealand squad.

Danny Lafferty is also away with the Northern Ireland squad this week for tonight’s 2014 World Cup qualifier at home to Azerbaijan.

The left back was a late inclusion into Michael O’Neill’s squad after making his first start of the season for the Clarets at Ipswich Town on Saturday.
