FULL-TIME: Ipswich 2, Burnley 1
5:04pm Saturday 10th November 2012 in Sport
BURNLEY suffered a first defeat under new manager Sean Dyche, as Ipswich recorded their first home win since March.
Daryl Murphy put the home side in front in the 50th minute, albeit in controversial fashion as Clarets goalkeeper Lee Grant was fouled in the process.
Burnley equalised courtesy of an own goal for Danny Higginbotham, who headed in Junior Stanislas' cross.
But DJ Campbell turned in an 87th minute winner to continue Burnley's Portman Road hoodoo.
It has proved to be a bogey ground for Burnley over the years – with the Clarets winning only once here.
But with the Tractor Boys losing their previous five home games there was reason for Dyche's men to be optimistic of a change in fortunes.
Burnley had Grant to thank for going into the half-time break goalless after pulling off a spectacular save to keep out Campbell's volley.
Murphy headed Ipswich in front five minutes into the second half, despite a collision with Grant in which the keeper went to ground.
The Clarets surrounded referee Mark Brown in protest, but the goal was given.
Dyche brought on Stanislas and Sam Vokes 15 minutes later, and the duo looked to combine for the equaliser.
Stanislas sent in a cross from the left in search of Vokes, but instead Higginbotham turned it past his own goalkeeper.
The Clarets couldn't see the game out though, and with three minutes of normal time to go were hit on the break, with Campbell volleying a right wing cross past Grant with the outside of his right boot.

You can blame a foul on the goalie all you like but it still does not alter the fact that we got beat by the bottom club in the league who had not won at home since March. After beating teams like Wolves and Leeds at home you would have expected the Clarets to be full of confidence but after the honeymoon period I am afraid it is a case that "normal service has been resumed sooner rather than later."
Well done on making sure you were logged in with the correct, pretend Burnley supporting, log in name. Last time you got all confused and blew your cover!!!!

Bless the Dingles thinking they were a club going places because they beat Wolves and Leeds. Just look at the table - they are both in the bottom half for a reason - Leeds are in freefall and Wolves can't buy a win.
Quite sad really isnt it - when the only ambition in your season is to keep checking the league table to see how far behind Blackburn you are. No other targets other than beating Blackburn and trying to get near them in the league? No, didn't think so. Life in the world of Burnley FC.

You keep bigging up your massive two point lead over us and watch it disappear by the weekend.
You better believe that the worm has turned my deluded inbred chum, and despite you spunking £10 million on players in the summer - we are about to stuff the 34 years chant back down you throats as there is no real difference between the two sides - as you will find out on December 2nd
