Our board have proved smart enough to engage Sean, Ian and Tony. I think they are equally smart enough to consider that they will achieve the same, if not more value, from any potential transfer at the end of the season than in jan. The value of Charlie's finishing to our chances of promotional success far out weigh taking the money early in my opinion. Achieving promotion means we would need to keep our goal machine and would also be in a position to offer appropriate terms. Not even for 10m cash up front would i sell him in jan, no nay never!

Robson did not usually take penalties. Jimmy Mac was penalty taker. As for Austin, why would any club even consider selling an increasing asset. It is rare that you unearth a diamond like Austin and anybody with half a brain would build a team round him and try to win promotion. Dyche seems pretty smart to me and hopefully would have the cajones to say `If Austin goes so do I ` In fairness to the board it is only jealous Rovers fans who are talking about Austin leaving in January. Would I do a swap for Rhodes and 5 million.............

If J Rod went for 7 million Austin has to be worth near the 10 million mark. As much as Burnley fans don't want to see him go the club would have to seriously consider an offer in that region.

If a Jan panic buy bid of £15m came in from a Premiership team offering him £30k+ wages per week, he is going!!! whether we like it or not.

I wonder if J Rod is happy playing in a struggling team or if he wishes he had spent another year or two developing his game further before moving on ? Next season he could very well be back in The Championship !!!!

Any January bid for Austin would have to be crazy money . For 10 mill why sell. His value will be far more in 1 or 2 seasons.

I think it would be more of a case of him wanting to leave rather than us wanting to sell

It would appear that some of my comments, when posted on the rovers' match reports, are upsetting some 'fans'. I use the term 'fans', loosely because unfortunately I cannot use expletives! However I shall continue to comment in my normal entertaining way, as nothing I HAVE written has been deemed as racist, sexist, or likely to break the law by means of posting comments which are offensive (it is a game of football nothing more & is not life changing) other than telling them the truth which is - they are a terrible team & club (truth hurts). Rovers fans need to get a grip on reality and remember there are more important things in life, like Family. It would also appear that some rovers 'fans' continue to post comments in reference to Burnley fans, sleeping with their Mother or Sister, being inbreds & or being illiterate, which the LET seem to think is okay (double standards). Any Clarets fans who agree with my comments can happily post their comments as & when they please (LET permitting of course) on the rovers blog, when they lose, which hopefully should be every week (well one can dream can't they?).

Whilst not having had the opportunity to watch Charlie Austin play, (having been retired here for 12 years now), he must be quite something to be considered the equal of Andy Lochhead . Good on him and let's hope we can keep him awhile.
I remember watching Andy Lochhead play on the Turf in the early 60s. He looked a lot bigger than his 6ft because of his intimidating presence on the pitch. He was a real Jekyll and Hyde character, in that provided his marker behaved himself, all would be well. However, woe-betide the evil doer !
I don't recall seeing A.L. react instinctively to provocation, (unlike current players). He was a master of calculated, malevolent retribution. If liberties were taken or attempted, it could be an hour later, when a seemingly innocent challenge for a 50:50 ball would result in Andy's adversary writhing in pain on the ground, the victim of a deft and almost unseen tap to the goolies with a size-9.
It was always a source of merriment to spot when Andy had 'marked somebody's card.' We'd be fired with anticipation, waiting to witness the inevitable. He never let us down. Not thuggish, just clinical.

Why do jealous rovers "fans" come on the bfc sport pages making stupid comments, yes we have been in their shadow for the past few years since uncle jack bought them a little bit of sucess, but the worm is turning and we are doing it with hard work and good people, BFC are on the up and rovers are the laughing stock of football, and I think they just cant it down at ewood.

Lord S :Reference "Fatherless Chicken_Berger morans" dont worry about them they have enough issues relating to the value of the Choirboy they bought and having to pay the balance when they go down the pan. Enjoy Charlie whilst we can and hope that the Board give him a contract that allows him to stay until best deal for both parties evolves, if he stays in Jan we will be playoff contenders no problem...

The difference is you stupid braindead Blackburn gimp, that back in the early 90's Senile Jack Walker and his plaything Blackburn Rovers set a precedent of paying massive wages to entice players - I mean why would Alan Shearer choose Blackburn over Man Utd? The area or the money?
