Frustration for Berg

HENNING Berg was a frustrated man as he was denied his first win as Blackburn Rovers boss by a late Huddersfield Town leveller last night.

Rovers had come from behind to lead 2-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium, thanks to Jordan Rhodes’ strike against his old club and a Danny Murphy penalty, to move on course for their first win since Berg’s arrival as boss last week.

But Lee Novak scored his second of the game for Huddersfield in injury time to earn the Terriers a 2-2 draw.

“We are very disappointed with the result because sometimes in football you don’t get what you deserve and we didn’t get what we deserved,” Berg said.

“It was in our hands though and we have to be able to kill a game off.

“When we have the ball with one minute to go in a good position we have to keep the ball in that good position instead of trying to score the third.

“We have young players though and they have to learn.

“They learned from Saturday and they will learn more after today.

“But I thought we played well tonight and we deserved to win the game.

“It was a big improvement.”

The draw kept Rovers sixth in the Championship table, five points behind the automatic promotion spots.

Berg was taking charge of his second game as Rovers manager, having been appointed last Wednesday.

Rovers lost 2-0 at Crystal Palace in his first match in charge on Saturday and have still only won one match on the road this season – at Bristol City.

Six of their eight away games in the Championship have ended in a draw.

No doubt the "consortium" will be on here soon with their numerous accounts promoting their latest "agency commission" man. BERG=KEAN. How much money have they made from agent commission from signings alone? £5 Million pound was it last year? What about the year before? What about next year...and the year after that? ....How much commission do they make each week as a percentage of all these cheap foreign import's wages? Until all the parachute payments run out. They weren't stupid...how many businesses can guarantee that level of income for 4 years?? Shame Blackburn Rovers FC will be probably be destroyed as a result...

Isn't it funny when you think of the connection between those involved in BRFC....we have local businessmen...we have Hendry...we have Hendry's Scottish chums Black & Kean, we have Kean's agent Jerome Anderson...and we have Hendry's former ESPN colleague Shebby Singh (who clearly would have known Venky's through their sport sponsorship in the far east).
.
Was Hendry's short spell at PNE where he met Shaw by any chance?? Such a coincidence that Hendry joined Preston on loan in 2002 when Shaw became their Chairman.

Smellthecoffee, Would think there is strong but at this stage circumstantial evidence for a lot of truth in your post . The club could well be being used by a handful of people to cream out of it as much money as possible, I believe Shaw lives in Lytham ,and drinks in the same places as Hendry,so there may be truth in your comments. Questions that have not been answered ,such as (a) Why was Kean not sacked purely on the strength of his results ? never mind the disgrace he brought to the club as manager being convicted of a serious crime (drink driving is regarded as a serious crime) then all the shame he brought to the club with his dunken rant about Allardyce ,why did Rovers never sack him when the 100% of the Rovers supporters were screaming for him to go ? (b)Why was Kean allowed to bring Hendry in as a "defensive coach" apart from Hendry`s dismal past history of coaching, his private life , drunkeness, domestic violence ,swindling pensioners , what was the motive behind bringing in Hendry ? (c) Why was it as soon as Hendry got the job as the specialist defensive coach , he got the job a few weeks after Hendry was on SKY telling the Sky viewers that it was a only very small minority of fans who were against Kean as manager (blatant lie) so why did Kean move from the Blackburn area to Lytham St Annes to live weeks after ,was Hendry just Keans driver or was there more sinister dealings going on ? I don`t believe Shebby Singh is involved in any backhand dishonest scheming , quite frankly I think it suits the people there to have Singh there because he acts and behaves naive , and the powers that be ,probably find Singh an easy touch to manipulate , we know how plausible good con men are. Henning Berg should have brought in his own coaching team at least he would have 1 or 2 of his own people with him that he can depend on and trust, I fear Berg will be eventually undermined if this does not happen. Someone said rovers have about 36 professionals on there books , this is a massive amount of players (wage bill) why was Kean allowed to bring in all these players ? How much money has gone to line the pockets of this agent we all know ? This is why it is difficult to move forward ,the supporters distrust what comes from the management , we do not believe them anymore , and we feel Shebby will simply say anything his masters at Ewood ,the people he clearly idolises ,ex players, and his masters in Pune tell him what to say.
I honestly do not believe Venky's own the club....they were just there to pass the PL's "fit and proper" test. After all, a bankrupt wouldn't be allowed to have any involvement and agents are banned from any direct involvement in the day-to-day running of a football club - that would therefore put a certain former player and agent out of owning a football club. For their part, Venkys would get worldwide exposure of their brand....if not more. Kean's frequent trips to Pune were certainly suspicious to say the least...and yes it is all very coincidental that Shaw, Hendry and Kean have all lived in Lytham (albeit Kean allegedly at Hendry's house).
.
To be fair to the Venky's, judging by their interview in summer, I think the stress of it all is probably getting to them. Is this why they shaved their heads and taches?? Gone grey by any chance??
.
36 professionals on Rovers' books could make for a hell of a lot of commission kick backs. I believe agents are usually on around the 15% mark and some players are on tens of thousands of pounds a week. The agent's fees in the annual accounts (for transfers) could just be a drop in the ocean and possibly do not reflect the actual sums being made. The players would be attracted by big salaries which they wouldn't make anywhere else.
.
What is for sure is that the club is either being incredibly poorly managed from Pune or is being bled dry by greedy and corrupt individuals in the UK.
.
The business model is unsustainable and Rovers are sinking like the Titanic.

Amazing - if you feel there's a conspiracy, put the documents together, submit them to the authorities and let them do the rest.

Me, I'm more concerned with supporting Blackburn Rovers.

Just as a by the way, Kean didn't get away with recruiting so many players - he wasn't involved in most of the recruiting so that's that conspiracy gone.

Second, you hear so little from the club because they are run by a matriarch in India who is not compelled to report to anyone what she is doing. We aren't a listed company so we don't have to report to the Stock Exchange or anything. No news = conspiracy theories.

Third - how do you know what Berg is, what he is thinking, or why he is here?

Please take your conspiracy theories to another blog because they are not welcome here, this is a blog to talk about the football (the article, in case you didn't read it, is about Berg's reaction to the game last night - we played at Huddersfield and drew 2-2. I'll stop there because I don't think you're actually interested in the football).

Finally, if you have a STEAL hat then we'll report you to the police.

Support the club or go away....

I notice it's all gone a little quiet from our 'friends'. This might just be the beginning of one of the biggest scandals to ever hit the 'beautiful game'. Is corruption at work?...and if so...who exactly is involved? Are current players involved? Has there been dodgy betting patterns? - or - is it just incredibly inept ownership from Venky's?? Let's hope the authorities (and possibly police) thoroughly check all this out.

If you want to follow up all these accusations then do something about it, otherwise shut up. Went on the game last night. Thought we were pretty static in the first half. Only Rochina managed to find any space. We did though look pretty well organised and comfortable.

The second half was much better. Rochina was again excellent. And I thought that Murphy had his best game in a Rovers shirt. Tried to keep the ball moving and keep the intensity up.

Other comments:

Simon Vukcevic needs to start games on the right wing. Berg has to be praised here for bringing him back in to the fold immediately.

Markus Olsson could be replaced by Pedersen on the left wing.

Rosado despite giving the ball away late on could become a decent central midfielder. He looked strong, skilful and quick. This may be needed as Etuhu had a dreadful game. Bounced off him constantly.

Rhodes looks isolated on occasion. Although in the second half there were runners getting beyond him.

Dann is not a leader at the back. Hanley looks far more composed. Givet and Hanley at the back in future.

Henley looks like a good right back. Again Henning deserves credit for putting him straight in.

I used to read the articles on this website to find out about how we played the night before when I have not made it to the game. As I live in Peterborough its hard to get to everygame. It used to be interesting reading others comments also. Unfortunatley some people feel the need to speak utter twaddle on here these days, Smellthecoffee being one of many. Please give it a rest!

Bergs comments are spot-on, no long-winded excuses or trotting out of silly positives as per the ones that used to spill out of the Odious ones gob....hearing Bergs simple and honest remarks and thoughts on the game is like a breath of fresh air around Ewood. Three points needed Saturday though, the two game 'honeymoon' settling-in week is over and we need to get the win against Birmingham. I think that most Rovers fans are confident that we will.

They've already tried remember?

Heres some conspiracy for you.

A dodgy dossier written and apparently shown tto politicians and senior officials in football no less. All apparently shocked and disgusted by what had been unearthed by the good people of Blackburn’s would-be Colombo’s.

But wait.. as that famous detective would say “Just one more thing..”

Where is this literary masterpiece that was going to “rock” the establishment, bring down the Venky’s empire and apparently had them shaking in their boots? I’ve asked on forums, I’ve asked many people linked to the so-called dodgy dossier.. how many pages was it? 140? Guess what? Not one person can produce it. Not even a smell of a page anywhere on the internet.

Oh yes, that book that the author couldn’t stop advertising everywhere he got the chance.. Rovertaken? I’m surprised Penguin didn’t pick it up for mass publishing, but then of course he WAS trying to pass it off as factual.

No doubt shady dealings with agents will have gone on. Newsflash, it happens every day at every club. As every newspaper has its paparazzi, every club has its share of dodgy agents. It’s mass money and everyone wants their and frankly, the Walkers were ripe for it, they couldn’t wait to off-load the club. It only needed an unscrupulous agent to marry the two to a willing and naïve foreigners looking to premiership glory on the cheap. This isn’t big news, its daily dealings and business reality. More dodgy deals are done in Whitehall everyday and no-one bats an eyelid.

If their’s any real shady wrong doings in that so-called dodgy dossier.. where is it?

I’m prepared to keep an open mind. Time for smelly and the conspirators to put up or shut up.

Allegations were made that when Hendry went bankrupt ,his main creditor was HMRC which was around 1.25 million pounds he owed them ,and the allegation was Hendry he could have paid all his creditors off 2.2 mill. but what he actually did months before his going bankrupt he took the maximun mortgage on every property and asset he owned ,for example he paid 725,000 pounds cash in 2001 for his own house but when he went bankrupt it was sold by the Trustees for 1.7 million but he had a recently taken a mortgage on it for 1.8 million pounds ,he did this to every single one of his assets ,maximising as much money out of every single one of his assets he could ,this would mean by not paying his creditors the 2.2 million he owed them and by filtering his other money/new mortgage money out the country he could have got perhaps 5 million pound out and safe and away from creditors hidden offshore Whatever the amount it would have been an incredible amount of money ,and as we all know Glasgow Rangers went bankrupt because they were paying their players a portion of their wages into offshore accounts and not paying tax on it, so Hendry would have had a vehicle to transfer funds out , anyway his financial advisor would have no problem getting his funds out and into offshore banking institutions, and as Hendry was at Rangers the exact time all this corruption at Rangers was going on . Anyway an allegation was made that Hendry`s money was filtered out and then onto India ,he could claim on his bankruptcy he gambled it all away , unprovable ! anyway so from then his money would have come back FROM India on the share purchase of Rovers using a nominee a/c , then he would be a major shareholder at Rovers, hence his employment watching over his interests. Naturally this is/was an allegation perhaps true ,perhaps not, but whatever the truth is there has been decisions made in the last two years and are still happening that are suicidal for the health of Blackburn Rovers.
Clearly the old gambling trick has a proven track record of success. What do they say..?...what goes on in Vegas...stays in Vegas. Nothing would surprise me as far as Hendry is concerned. What now needs to happen is the authorities need to fully investigate the takeover of Blackburn Rovers Football Club. When I say authorities...I mean the PL, FA and police (SFO)!!!
.
It seems Venky's may have been persuaded to get involved in something they shouldn't have done (possibly criminal). If that is the case then I would highly recommend anyone in such a situation to approach the authorities themselves or face being possibly thrown in prison!!
.
To stay silent would be to remove the chance of mitigation.

And what do you think the end results of any discovery of wrong doing would be? I suspect a points reduction and maybe even relegation. That's what all Blackburn fans want isn't it ... NOT!

If the authorities act NOW then there would be no points deduction...but there would be certain imprisonment and shame for those involved in such a thing. If the authorities act AFTER Rovers go under (2/3 years time possibly) then there will be a points deduction and certain relegation with a return unlikely.

If smellthecoffee is right about any shady goings on at the club, and who knows any different at this point, he is right to keep it out in the open like this.
Anyone involved in any such shady dealings must be quaking in their boots, and rightly so.
I for one won't try to belittle his suspicions, as I believe, and have done for some time, that all is not as it should be at Rovers

IF stc is right... Problem is where is the factual evidence? There have to be proven facts to get anything done. Hearsay is not allowed in a court of law. I must say that stc's comments seem to me to be all hearsay and speculation. I've done it, we've all done it but stc does it more than any of us and won't let go - I've tried to make sense of what is going on and jumped to certain conclusions. There is definitely something shady going on - allowing a criminal to manage, employing another criminal to coach, sacking a respected chairman and employing a failed ex-chairman, employing an inexperienced football pundit to make top-level decisions, employing a communications director who never communicates, signing lots of second-rate inexperienced players, selling first-rate experienced players - the list goes on, and none of it makes any sense.

HOWEVER, Henning Berg is independent of this, afaik, and Singh appears to be doing his best for the club, so PERHAPS THE SHADY DEALINGS WERE A MISTAKE AND THINGS ARE CHANGING NOW.

In my humble opinion, one of thousands, the spreading of rumours and speculation backfires. Even spreading facts with flimsy evidence can be counter-productive - I've seen it several times. Only good clear factual evidence and the backing of someone with power and authority will make a difference. I hope the BRAG report is a fact and not a myth. If it is a fact, and it contains good evidence, then I am sure there are people who know exactly how to use it to help BRFC.

Exactly, we can only speculate but prove nothing, but if there are wrongdoings out there, there are people who can bring them to justice and hopefully that will happen.
I'm keeping an open mind, but meanwhile it might be better not to just sweep things under the carpet.

RTID, I too come on this forum hoping to get the comments of people who have been to the game. What do I find ? 23 ramblings from smelly that he has repeated many, many times, and none of which have anything to do with football. The man/girl is totally obsessed and is clogging up and ruining these forums. It is OK to state an opinion, but not to keep re-stating it numerous times.
If this keeps up, smelly could be just talking to himself, as many of us will either get off the forums or die from boredom at the repetition.

Smellthecoffee, Well in a hostile takeover , the new people will bring in a new manager ,this new manager`s job is to get rid of all the people who were powerful and popular under the previous owners , then once this manager has got rid of all these people (John Williams and his management team ,possibly big Sam ,and the popular players that would have spoke up against the new owners) Anyway this new manager eventually becomes a hate figure WITH the workers and in a football clubs case ,the supporters ,but that is his job from the beginning,to get rid of anyone who was there before that was a popular figure, and then when he has done that he leaves ,usually with a big fat paycheck ,a devious scheme , and then hallalujah ,the quotes will come out,we got rid of him , we never realised he was so unpopular and then "IT`S TIME FOR A FRESH START,A NEW START ,A REBIRTH " ,of course its all BO*LOCKS it was all planned from the VERY beginning . So they bring in their own team SHAW,AGNEW,SINGH,HEN DRY and they can run the club any way they want run it into the ground , strip it , use it as a feeder club , a buying/selling business ,milk Rovers dry . That appears to be what has happened at Rovers.
If there is anything untoward (and the numerous ramblings on here defending the regime are suspicious to say the very least) then let's hope the authorities get this sorted out sooner rather than later!!!
.
Who knows...the police may have managed to infiltrate a suspected mob leader and bugged them somehow.....but how could they possibly have got him out of the house overnight...(in order to plant bugs)???
.
So many questions.....

stop asking them here... if you have any suspicions go to the authorities, don't ramble like a mad man on a forum where FANS want to talk about FOOTBALL. not politics.

According to smelly, if you disagree with him you are obviously on Venkys payroll. My first game at Ewood was in 1943 so don't accuse me of wanting anything but success for our team. The same goes for others on here who are sick of his numbing, never ending, unsubstantiated rants.

Hey, I come on here to read about Blackburn, but all I get are insane conspiracy theories (vast majority of the posts here are by Smell the aliens on Pluto and to people responding to him).

Cant you all just please ignore the "Aliens on Pluto comming to invade us" guy, and please speak about FOOTBALL!!!!

Hell, I am not even a Rovers fan. I am just interested in Football. But some here, are making you guys look like worse than imbeciles (primarilly ONE guy).

Can this paper not ban an obvious Troll account? If some moderator is reading this (is there a moderator on this site at all?), then please do your job regarding the "Aliens are invading us NOW" guy, as this is just a **** disgrace...

All the best to Rovers fans, from a Norwegian football lover.
