LEE Novak’s last-ditch equaliser denied Henning Berg his first win as Blackburn Rovers boss as Huddersfield Town claimed a point at the John Smith’s Stadium tonight.

Jordan Rhodes and Danny Murphy had netted as Rovers came from behind to lead 2-1, but Novak levelled deep into stoppage time.

Rovers almost took the lead after only 25 seconds when Huddersfield keeper Alex Smithies made a fine save to deny Ruben Rochina.

But it was the hosts who went ahead in the 15th minute at Novak found the net.

Rhodes hit back in the 43rd minute, though, on his return to the John Smith’s Stadium – just over two months after his £8m move to Rovers – as he ran on to Rochina’s pass and fired past Smithies.

And Murphy put Rovers 2-1 in front 10 minutes after half time as he sent Smithies the wrong way from the penalty spot after Markus Olsson had been fouled as he surged into the box.

Novak, though, equaliser for Huddersfield in injury time as he bundled the ball past Paul Robinson.
