Blackburn Rovers wait on quintet

BLACKBURN Rovers have a number of injury doubts ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Huddersfield Town.

Nuno Gomes, Jason Lowe, David Dunn, Gael Givet and Fabio Nunes will all be assessed before the Championship fixture as new boss Henning Berg looks for his first win.

Berg said: ”We know we have to be better than we were on Saturday.

“We can be better offensively and defensively.

“We know we are capable of better than that and hopefully we will show an improvement tomorrow.”

No problem. Gives the 'others' a chance to show what they can do- though I won't hold my breath!

Have we actually got the capabilities with this collection of misfits over the hill players to field a forward line apart from Rhodes who else is available of any use up front.

Had I been Henning Berg, I would have spent Sunday morning in conversation with only one man ......and my opening questions would have been, " Now Jordan, will you tell me the type of player you need along side you, the type of pass you need to be played to you, do you like crosses from wingers, do you like the ball to feet down the channels?"

From his answers I would then look at who we have who could possibly provide any of those things within the current squad and do my rebuilding from there.

The way forward is to get the very best out of Jordan Rhodes, the only player with genuine talent. It's no good asking him to change his game because of the shortcomings of others.....let's play to his strengths.......he is our only chance of success......it might take some time but .....come in Henning ask the question........plea

I agree with you 100%, that greeeeeedy sod Kazim-Richards (and I was calling him greedy from previous games before the missed pen, just watch him next time your down), he needs a slap round back of the head and to be told... "Unless you have an open net, look up, play a decent pass to Rhodes and move in for a possible rebound!"... "Oh, and if you dont then your benched laddy!!"

I would seriously rather play any one of our very few defenders next to Rhodes than Kazim at the moment...

Considering our poor defence, Givet is a pretty big miss and it showed on Saturday.

Where is Rosado? The problem with modern day football is clubs at even championship levels have players on 20k a week being paid really just to stay fit, none of the pay is performance related...while the new prem tv deal next year will mean even more money it wont go towards cutting ticket prices it will go on paying more average players extorniate amounts. anyway rant over, can you please try and bring some fluency to our play Henning and get some supply to rhodes,

Berg needs to have a long hard look at the squad and decide which of Keans odd jobs to get rid of in January. There are too many not up to the level that is needed to mount a promotion push and what is really needed is some leadership on the pitch. There is some real quality and potential there but they are outweighed by those well past their best or not up to this level.

PROMOTION PUSH! Get Real! There's been too many upheavals and far too deep entrenched rot in the Club which needs eradicating before any signs of promotion should be entertained. What use is promotion when the Chicken Farmers are still at the helm and incompetents still work at Ewood.

It was obvious why Rovers lost on saturday, they simply gave too much respect to crystal palace, who had too much time on the ball, they were never rushed them into making mistakes. Rovers have to play at a higher intensity. they need to make it harder by pressing them all over the pitch, the entire match, rovers cant allow them to play their own game just as they did with Middlesbrough.

I cannot believe Huddersfield haven't put a clause in the sale of Rhodes to the effect that he cannot play against them in both games this season. As it always happens to ex-players, they return to hurt the club they left.

Berg needs to learn who nis decent and requires coaching and who is useless and needs to go in the next window. We need to get rid of around 9 players and bring 3 quality ones in at right back left back and a target man.

Because its not allowed... Only on loan deals can a club put such a clause into a deal...

You're spot about CKR...he is greedy and always seems as if making a pass is the last thing he wants to do. Great potential but needs to learn when to release the ball......bl00dy frustrating when you can see a simple ball is on and he chooses to either try and beat a player he's already beat, take on 3 defenders or make a pass but the wrong one!

That's the least of our problems though. The fitness of the squad is way way short of the mark. Berg needs to get them in twice a day and make them into super fit machines. Those who can't be bothered or are simply past it, then it should be good night vienna. It's all Keans fault of course. That drunkard turd may be long gone but until Berg gets this bunch super fit and organised, the chaos captain **** created will continue to haunt us for a while longer I'm afraid.

Lookin forward to a positive following tomorrow at Hudd, I seem to remember Østenstad scoring a last minute winner there last time I went, so more of the same please and hopefully Rhodes will be ready to remind his former employers why they sold him for £8 mill!!

OK... so nobody had the brains at BRFC to get Jamie Carragher in as player manager, (remember the nous of Howard Kendall?) but he'd be more than a decent shout to have as our new captain at the back.

Well said, in this division you need a team full of grafters who put a shift in. First priority is stop the opposition having a free ride. Then you build on that.
Mark Hughes did exactly that. We need another Robbie savage.

No, this is just the LT repeatedly quoting this one line to pad out their stories which have no content of merit besides 'a few players could be injured"
