SEAN Dyche's Turf Moor reign has got off to a promising start, with the Clarets leading Wolves at the break.
Martin Paterson gave first blood to Burnley in the 17th minute after sprinting on to Ben Mee's excellent ball down the left channel and tucking his finish beyond advancing goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, for his fourth goal of the season.
Burnley, operating a 4-2-3-1 formation, limited Wolves to few openings, and could have made it 2-0 just before the break.
Dean Marney robbed Roger Johnson of possession midway inside the visitors' half and tore forward, but hesitated in shooting and Carl Ikeme blocked the shot.
Wolves broke quickly and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was inches away from turning in Bakary Sako's cross-shot at the far right post.
