Burnley Basketball Club is building for the future after announcing several new exciting ventures.
The club has formed a second team, joined forces with Burnley Magpies and has also helped set up Shuttleworth College Basketball Academy.
In means junior and senior players of all abilities will have the opportunity of enjoing more ‘game time’ this season.
Head coach Colum Cronin said: “We are in a better position to be able to offer all our players quality playing minutes at the level that they want to participate.
“We have more sessions available for all the junior and senior players.
“We have created a second team and we are helping out the Magpies team playing in the Hyndburn League that will effectively become our third team.”
Burnley has once again organised the LBA Central Venue League where teams from East Lancashire will compete at U14s and U16s – a Burnley team that includes the promising Aidan Buffey – while Shuttleworth College, under coach James Tucker, will play for the first time.
Cronin added: “James is doing a brilliant job at Shuttleworth. We will have a team entering the CVL so these players will be able to train twice a week at school and play nearly every Wednesday evening.”
