Blackburn Rovers expect new boss next week
11:34pm Thursday 25th October 2012 in Sport
BLACKBURN Rovers global advisor Shebby Singh says the club will have a new manager by the middle of next week.
Singh has confirmed that Rovers have now started interviewing candidates, after drawing up a shortlist earlier this week.
Rovers have now been without a manager for almost a month since Steve Kean's exit but Singh expects a decision to be made over his replacement in the coming days.
Asked when the club will have a new boss in place, he said: "Definitely by the middle of next week."
On the subject of the interview process, Singh said: "It has started already.
"You must understand the sensitivities of making this appointment after what happened .
"That is why we have to tread with caution.
"If caution means taking a little bit more time than usual, we will do that."

You have spent 4 weeks allegedly running round trying to get a manager in without the rest of the board knowing. You got rumbled on McKinlay so you had to start again with the interviews. You should have been doing this a month ago. Now you've decided against appointing Holloway if the latest reports are to believed. You are a media-hungry, arrogant moron who knows nothing about football. You are an embarrassment to BRFC. Please get lost.

Two years of messing about is quite long enough, we need a fresh start with a true first team manager.
Harry Redknapp, short term or otherwise, now thats what I call a fresh start!

English soccer. “I can do business with stupid people,” he said afterward,
“and I can do business with crooks. But I can’t do business with
stupid people who want to be crooks.”
It was a decent summary of the soccer business, if you can call soccer a
business. People often do. William McGregor, the Scottish draper who
founded the English Football League in 1888, was probably the first person
to describe soccer as “big business,” but the phrase has since become
one of the game’s great clichés. In fact, McGregor was wrong. Soccer is
neither big business nor good business. It arguably isn’t even business at all.

Even the "lame brained" owners began to press the panic button at the end of Kean's reign as they saw successive 20 year low attendances. The threat of an all out boycott for the Wolves match was too much for Kean, as he would have no credibility in any employment tribunal if it was proved that he had driven away the "lame brained."
So, why does a club need supporters anyway, you may ask, young Nathan. Well, son, that is something for you to think about while you are squeezing your spots.

However, most businesses have a product and customers. Without those two elements, the business fails. If your chicken take away serves atrocious fare, and treats it's customers badly, it will lose them, and fail.
Same goes for a football club.
Successful businesses provide a good product and work hard to please their customers. Both of these have been in very short supply since Venkys arrived.
No way to run a business.

Flitcroft is not the man
I've been around the block long enough (72 years) to know a no good dullard when I see one. And I tell you what I see now: a no good dullard.
Chorley! what sort of credentials are those?
Jesus, can this man even hold a pint glass properly? Kean and Hendry could drink their beer like proper men but I doubt this new puppet of Shebby's even sups real ale. Disgusting.
No - this is all going to end in tears I tell you. 72 years experience tells me. I can sniff out the wronguns I tell you.
When I look at Flitcroft I see WEAKNESS. Yes, there's a bit too much of "I'd prefer to set up the cones for training" about him than "I'm off to steal my neighbours' life savings and pi.ss it all away gambling on NFL all night while drinking special brew". I can see it in his eyes.
This doesn't bode well for BRFC.

Shebby 'I'm as mad as a box of frogs' Singh will bring in a 'young, up and coming' manager just as he has always said that he/venky's want.
Whoever it turns out to be, we really need to back this guy and give him a chance. Experienced managers have gone to clubs and failed, on the flip side young managers have gone to clubs and been a success. No one knows how this will pan out, you never know, he could be a revelation!..... I hope!

You really must learn to read. I did not confuse Kean's resignation with the Venkys. They failed to pull the trigger, but that does not make Kean "cannon fodder." In fact of all the descriptions I could imagine of an under-qualified, overpaid, under-achieving individual, "cannon fodder" would be the last on any list. Especially as he seems to be under starters orders to claim unfair dismissal. (Don't worry about that yet, they will tell you when you get a job.)
You say that we may find out what the owner's agenda is over the next week. Two points. First. Your a bit nosy aren't you? What the Dickens has it to do with you, lame brain? Do you think you own the club?
Second. You won't.

I understand that "loss of face" is very important in the sub-continent. If this is so, it would be humiliating for the Venky Company to be the ones who ruined a formerly successful Premiership English team.
So, although our Rovers are a small branch of their total business, it may be psychologically more important to them, because failure at Ewood would be reported around large parts of the world, and the blame would be entirely theirs.
If this is true, perhaps it will give us hope that they, eventually, will have to get it right. I watched my first match at Ewood in 1943, so I hope they do.

And by the end of the day no ney never wrote: Absolutely everything I said when only 2 of you, Iiii1111 and French Rover can put up some sort of list. All shebby is going to learn here is to carry on putting names out and gauge the reaction, he isn't getting much in the way of suggestions is he? Are any more of you capable? Terry's of BurnleyYou've done well to hit that many letters in succession....when did you start typing that you numpty? Mind you I guess it's easier with all those fingers..!!!
? Ribble valley restaurants? WTF are you talking about? i've never mentioned anything about that on here! Get your facts right before you spout off, it prevents further embarrassment!
My point about Redknapp earlier was that you could not possibly know whether he had expressed an interest in the Rovers post or not. Yes, we all know the reasons why he refused the Toon job, but is it inconceivable to think that he may have changed his priorities and thought about giving it a go?
We know he's not coming now anyway so it's a bit of a mute point.
Now, as i said earlier, get back in your box!

Rovers fans, like shareholders in any company have a say in how it's run, which is exactly what they are doing.
When you have an understanding on the intricacies of running a successful business, which Blackburn Rovers hasn't been since Venky's took over two years ago, come back with a sensible and better informed comment Nathan!

You are asserting that the fans are shareholders with a say in how the club is run. I think you meant stakeholders, not shareholders. Us fans only have the right to express an opinion and, by our actions of giving or withdrawing custom, hope to influence the owners. We can have influence but not 'a say'.

The fans have the absolute right to deride Venkys for their arrogance and stupidity and they can have an influence over the owners actions as seen in some of the recent U turns. Eventually the fans will contribute to bringing the Venkys ownership to an end.

When Venky's bought our club in 2010, it became clear what their intentions were, asset stripping and trying to run the club as a dictatorship. This was the reason Sam Allardyce was ousted because he wouldn't be told what players to buy and how to run his team as manager.
I could go on and state all the other proper 'football' people who had the best interests of BRFC at heart, who also lost their jobs down at the circus but everybody's aware of the inept replacements brought in, in their absence.
I'm sure the Rao family weren't aware of how much fans can influence decisions in the boardroom and whether the previous manager walked or was shoved, it's clear that the actions of the thousands of stay-away supporters brought them to their senses.

As you stated, the Rao family can do what they like as owners, but if the FA are unwilling to carry out a 'Fit and Proper Persons' test then the only people standing in their way are it's supporters, otherwise there's a very good chance that we'll be another Portsmouth, being taken to the cleaners by 'business' people with only one intention which is making money on the back of player sales.
To be fair, during the early stages of this season they've splashed a bit of cash, but that's come from last season's transfer turnover, which probably amounts to around £30m, give or take!
Explain to me why the WEC Group's directors, who are BRFC fans, pulled the plug on their sponsorship deal; why do we not have a shirt sponsor? Why did Jack Straw, (a Rovers fan), at the end of last season, try to get Richard Schudamore to look into the takeover?

Not to burst your bubble Jack but I run three businesses and have dine fir ten years now. I'm no entrepreneur but I understand how things work, and I don't think you are placed after a few texts to make an informed decision as to my business acumen or my passion for BRFC. However, we could sling mud at each other all day....but I'm sure at the bottom of all this there is a mutual frustration at the way the club is being torn apart by it's present owners. I did have fears last season that there was an ulterior motive and Venky's would have us in administration, but I'm hoping that I'm wrong obviously and that a capable and sufficiently profiled manager will be appointed very shortly and give us something to be excited about again.
The people mentioned above, know how to run a successful, stable club better than you and I, and like they say, there's no smoke without fire!
So although we're 'only' the supporters, Blackburn Rovers FC would be nothing without us!!

In the same way, there is absolutely no place for Latin in the English language per se, yet it coninues to be used ad nauseum.
