Sophie maps her way to Madrid
SOPHIE Horrocks from Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School has been selected to represent England in the World Schools’ Orienteering Championships in Madrid next Easter.
Sophie, who is in Year 11 at BRGS, has been selected in the five-strong senior girls’ team following her performance in the British Schools’ Orienteering Championships at Hawley, near Guildford, as reported on last week.
Sophie was fifth in her age group at the Championships, but had all but sealed her selection the day before when she was second in a World Championship Qualifier event.
