Being Picture Editor of the Lancashire Telegraph means I spend most of my waking hours behind a desk, which restricts the time I have to take photographs! However I manage to combine my love of photography with motorsport and football. My first football match was Southampton v Wolves in September 1973 at the age of 15, I even managed to capture the winning goal, scored by the late, great Derek Dougan. After 35 years of working at the Lancashire Telegraph, starting as a trainee in 1975, my enthusiasm for photography remains undiminished, and I derive great pleasure from seeing good pictures used well in the paper.
