  • Taken on the Star Lodge Abbey Village. A fantastic still frosty morning with an amazing sky and I was freezing.
  • Taken on Withnell Moors. This tree can be seen for miles and I tried for ages to get this shot. Many times I had to walk back in the dark.
  • This was taken in memory of Les Shaw. All that knew him know he is still there in spirit.
  • Taken on the canala between Feniscowles and Finnington. I liked the reflection of the bridge and the white fence although I nearly fell in the canal taking it!

I started getting interested in photography in the mid 1980s and sold my Fender Telecaster guitar to fund a Minolta 7000i camera. I did a year at night classes to learn the fundamentals of photography and won the photographer of the year prize. A growing family, business, and fell running for Clayton-le-Moors Harriers took precedence until about 3 years ago when I bought a digital camera and fell back in love with photography. I sent my first photo to the Telegraph in 2007 of a sunset on the canal and its publication really rekindled my photography. Since then I have had numerous photographs published in the Telegraph and I have also had work published in Northern Life Magazine, The Scots Magazine, Canal and Riverboat, and Amateur Photographer Magazine.
