Showcase

My interest in Photography began at the age of 16 when I started an A level course in Digital Photography at St Marys College in Blackburn.
Living in Burnley I began taking images out and about where I explored what the medium has to offer.
I love capturing the essence of a place, the personality of a person, or even the beauty of a landscape. I enjoy taking photos of everything and anyone, a photograph captures a moment in time which allows us to look upon it in many different ways, each of us has a different reading of any one photo which makes the possiblities of photography endless.

  • The reflections offered in rural landscapes are often overlooked. In this image I wanted to portray the sense of natural beauty and escapism which this offers, from the busy hectic urban centres.
  • This image was taken in Burnley, I wanted to capture the richness of the textures of urban decay, and what this signifies - a neglect of the envionment around us.
  • I loved how the use of lighting in this shot created strong shadows and silhouettes, this really brings out the detail of the pier. Underneath the pier is hidden away and the untouched nature of its appearence is something we can admire.
  • I used a tri-pod to capture this effet using shutter-speed to convey the feeling of movement and excitement in the image.
