MY BACK garden is looking great thanks to our Andrew.

Personally I have never liked gardening, it must be a throwback to my childhood.

My father was a fanatical gardener and our garden was one of his main interests outside of work, and as we lived up Green Lane on the corporation housing estate the competition was fierce.

The privet always had to be cut a day or two before next door and the back lawn had to perfect.

MORE TOP STORIES:

During the war he was concerned it had to be spoiled by an Anderson air raid shelter plonked in the middle of it, though of course, our shelter had to be the very best one kitted out.

I am now debating as to whether or not to go to New York, I keep thinking Margo you’ve been there so what’s the point?

But the trip to South Africa is a quite different kettle of fish as there are people there I want to see, plus that nagging voice which is whispering rather loudly if you leave any longer it might just be too late.

Decisions! Decisions!

I always thought that as you got older life would be simple and that there would be no big decisions to make, but, now, as I have found out that is not how it is.

In fact looking back to when I was young I seem to have done exactly as I wished, and seemingly not give the least bit of thought as to the consequences and not caring in the least as to what people would think.

Now I am older I do find myself hesitating and thinking what if?

What will people think?

So the question I ask myself is, am I being more thoughtful, more considerate, or am I losing a bit of my mojo or whatever they call it nowadays?

I started to sort through my wardrobe yesterday and after about an hour I gave up, as I found out that many of the items were not hanging there because I might wear them at some time – oh no!

They were there because I just can’t bear to let them go – they all have a memory – or belong to a special time.

Now is that a bit pathetic or what?

So I shall just have to have another go – but not tomorrow – maybe in a week or two.
