Letter: Tour de France in Lancashire...?

Well done Wiggo! An honourary Lancastrian.

Why can't Lancashire put in a bid for the opening stages of the Tour De France like Yorkshire is proposing?

The North West is a hotbed of cycling at the moment and this would be a wonderful opportunity to show off the area.

Please do not encourage any more of the old cyclists to infest our roads dressed in yellow and black Lycra. It is bad for the image. Send them for therapy instead.
