SO THE Cathedral Quarter is nearing completion, the new bus station is on hold and Blackburn Market is well, I guess, OK, despite having empty stalls which no doubt will be slowly filling up as Christmas approaches.
However, when you compare Blackburn Market to Bury there is no comparison.
Reading the full page ad in the LT on September 18 I was in awe.
Many years ago I used to visit Bury market and always thought it was great with a wide range of quality produce and a friendly service.
It now houses over 350 stalls on a full market day and has been voted winner of the BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards Best Food Market. That in itself is top recommendation.
Sadly Blackburn will never compare with a town like Bury.
