Letter: Police mystery over forensics

ON reading ‘Lancashire Police’s forensic staff given greater powers’ (LT, August 16), there seems to be a contradiction here. Was it not only a few months ago the police forensics at Chorley was closed to save money and their work was to be outsourced?
If I am reading the story right, will the previous external provider not be used any more? Will there be enough police personnel to carry out these investigations?
