Letter: So sad to see churches go

More and more churches seem to be in a state of disrepair, standing alone and seeming to be unloved but for the few dedicated church-goers who use them.
Even though I’m not a church-goer, I do enjoy exploring them and find the peace within useful whenever a quiet moment is needed.
But that’s because they have always been a familiar piece of architecture that has always been there and a part of my life, and I feel sorry that they are disappearing.
