Letter: Club unsuitable for small town

ONLY time will tell if the new lap-dancing club is good for Accrington.

But my reason for being against it is that Accrington is only a small town, not a city.

Some people can feel intimidated if they have to walk past groups of young people, usually staggering out of pubs and clubs having had too much to drink. In a city, people are used to pubs and clubs – you know you’re in a city.

Will lap-dancing contribute to the good of the town? And will it be a safe venue to walk past at night? As for jobs – just how many people will this club employ? I can’t imagine it solving unemployment.

Adrian Vincent Grady, Accrington.
