Letter: Roses' removal was appalling
2:54pm Friday 20th July 2012 in Opinion
TO say I am appalled about the report ‘Families upset at rose removal’ (LT, July 17) is an understatement.
Here we have Blackburn with Darwen Council removing the rose bushes from the memorial plots, saying that they are time- consuming to look after – balderdash!
How would they like the last resting place of their loved ones to be disturbed like this?
I have loved ones laid to rest at Pleasington and am appalled and disgusted that the plots have been treated this way.
The sooner a decision is taken to replace the rose bushes is taken, the better.
Whoever took this decision needs to remember, the borough council is here to serve us, the voters.
Alan Norcross, Blackburn.
