Letter: Disabled parking there for a reason

I would like to know where Alf Hart (Letters, July 4) was thinking the parking for the disabled should be sited at supermarkets and shops.

Would he have it in a far- flung corner where the disabled people would not interfere with his busy schedule?

Remember that most people who are disabled were workers themselves until being struck down by debilitating illnesses.

I can only hope this man doesn’t have the need to use the disabled parking facilities thoughtfully placed conveniently for those who need it.

Well said. The continuing drip feed of poison against the disabled and genuine benefit claimants is a sad reflection on peoples readiness to attack the vulnerable.

Maybe there should be special parking spaces close to the entrance of supermarkets set aside for lazy, selfish people?

Maybe if there were not so many so called disabled . I have never seen so many " disabled " people as there are in burnley.
Many of them in the pub where they mysteriously forget their crutch and can walk fine .
These are known as benefit cheats .

If a disabled person cannot get across a car park how the hell can they walk up and down the shopping ilses.
In fact if you are disabled really should they be driving in the first place. Doesn't sound very safe to me.

Please report any and all such people to the Benefit Fraud Hotline 0800 854 440. They are taking money from the genuinely disabled.

what an ignorant comment. so not more adapted cars, no more carers taking their disabled cared for shopping, no more shops providing wheelchairs for people once they get to the shop? lets take your comment a tad further and talk about dumping people who happen to be disabled back in residential care and not being"let out" at all shall we?
