Letter: Support goes on for older people

I want to make our local community aware that Age UK Hyndburn (formerly Age Concern Hyndburn) has merged with Age UK Lancashire.

This merger will help us to work more effectively across East Lancashire and ensure that we can continue to provide support and services to the older people of Hyndburn.

We will continue to operate from our offices at 24-26 Whalley Road, Accrington, offering information and advice and specialised products to older people, as well as services including computer classes, exercise sessions, social groups and day time support.

We will also continue to work closely with the national Age UK charity to ensure that local people have direct access to the highest quality information and advice, as well as to products and services tailored to their needs.

I would urge anyone with queries about the merger, or who wants to know more about what we offer local older people, to contact us on 01254 871010 or visit our office in Accrington.

Julie McDonald Age UK.
