By law, Councillors' expenses have to be published in local newspapers every year. This has been the case for at least the last 20 years. Local Councillors' expenses are published in the LT every year.
So we must wait for a year to discover whether or not councillors have been emulating the spending habits of MPs. That's an improvement; we have waited since the Middle Ages to discover that MPs have been so carefree."

Letter: No respect from MPs

When or where can we access MPs’ expenses sheets?

They said they were going to be more transparent. Has any reader ever seen an expenses sheet from even their local councillor? Shouldn’t they make them visible for all tax payers to have a gander at each month to see where our funds are going?

Why give responsibility to the banks to deal with their expenses? How will that make things more transparent?

And how long will it be before the Armed Forces wake up and see that the MPs of today are not what they were made out to be?

Then they do the dirty on the Gurkhas by not giving them and their families the right to live in the country they have so bravely fought for throughout many campaigns overseas.

If they treat the Gurkhas so injustly, what do they think about the rest of us?
