Letter: Tobacco tax is used wrongly

I am a smoker and have many friends who are non- smokers who have no problem with my habit.

It’s the do-gooders who have stuck their oar in, causing the changes to changes in the law.

Some democracy that is.

The tax gathered from smokers would more than cover the cost to the NHS but they don’t receive it.

All the tax increases levied on cigarettes are driving smokers towards the black market.

It’s about time politicians took a long hard look at the situation.

How much did it cost the American government before they woke up to Prohibition?

Halfhearted (via website).

What do you mean by no problem? Do the non smokers let you sit in their front room and smoke in front of their children or are they just not bothered when you leave their company to go and have a fag outside?
