Letter: Homeless people aren't always to blame

I find myself irritated when people I know are so quick to shoot people down who find themselves trampling the streets with no home to call their own.

I take an interest in a homeless charity in Leeds (as Burnley at the time didn’t have Emmaus) and if you read all about this shelter and even past lives of the people using the facility, you do then realise that a lot of people do not end up homeless due to their own making.

Shouldn’t having food, clothing and shelter be a basic human right?
