This country does not care a jot more for the armed forces than public outcry will allow them to get away with. If there is a war in the future we will send out a rallying call and they will get enough volunteers.
I am afraid the armed forces are an expense that have to be tolerated. People cost money if they come back injured.
The worse a government treats its people in the forces, the more loyal they are.
