Letter: Fear is the key to manipulation

People standing on their own two feet and making their own choices about how to live and die is too much freedom for the clergy to take (Saturday Sermon, June 23).

Kevin Logan, like other clerics both Christian an Muslim, would much rather we fear our freedoms than embrace them.

Fear makes us easy to manipulate and I don’t know any religions which don’t teach us to fear the ultimate wrath of an uncertain mood-dependent God on the last day.
