Letter: No benefits from our bad weather
4:44pm Friday 22nd June 2012 in Opinion
IN response to the letter about the threat from windfarms (LT, June 18), I totally agree.
But also, we get all the wind and plenty of rain up here, so why, having had to put up with the lousy weather, do we only pay the same per unit as those who don’t get drowned for half of the year?
They don’t get the skyline filled with Tellytubby windmills.
And why do we have hosepipe bans when it falls on our heads for half of the year?
If some farmer or landowner down south bakes in the sun all year round and moans about it, then he can pay extra for having no water and no wind.
He lives there. It was his choice.
