Letter: Poverty lifeline will be useful

REGARDING the £10m lifeline for troubled families in Blackburn and Darwen (LT, June 18), it sounds great and is a service I will use as I am currently very depressed.

I have to work on average 60 hours a week doing two rubbish jobs. I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs; I pay all my bills, counci tax, rent, gas, water, elecricity; I pay for any prescriptions I may need, dental bills; I pay for my kids’ school dinners and if I’m lucky I might get a week’s holiday.

But the really depressing thing for me is when I look at the deductions from my wage each month.
