Letter: Peer playing party politics?
1:48pm Thursday 14th June 2012 in Opinion
Lib Dem Peer Lord Greaves (LT, June 12) calls for the resignation of Tory county councillor Tony Askew because he 'lives and works most of his week in Cheltenham'.
What about Burnley councillor Gordon Birtwistle, who as the town's MP spends most of his week in London when the Commons is sitting?
Why is Lord Greaves not calling for this councillor to resign?
Is it because he is also a Lib Dem?
Jeff Thomson, Bristol Street, Burnley.

After the next election they will have virtually no MPs in the North of England.
It must be painful for a man of principle like Cllr Greaves to see the Lib Dems cosying up with people like Eric Pickles and Michael Gove and especially toffs like Cameron and Osbourne.
