It was with sadness that I read the report that Maddi's Mum has been diagnosed with cancer (LT, June 9).
My heart goes out to her and her family as they face another very difficult journey.
However, I wanted to stress that there is no way that 'God is trying to break her'.
It can sometimes feel that we are being sent more than we can possibly bear, but God made us all, we are His children and it breaks His heart when we suffer.
The Devil will do his best to make life difficult for us and put the idea in our heads that God doesn't care.
A few years ago, having been through a difficult time, I was then diagnosed with cancer and it was my faith that got me through.
Perhaps reading the book of Job in the Old Testament may bring some comfort.
