Letter: Warning signs did the trick

Regarding the roadworks on Preston Old Road, Witton Park.
I have to say when I first saw the signs, I was seriously concerned and had visions of long queues, delays, detours, poor signage, getting lost, late for work, etc. But I must commend United Utilities or whoever organised the advertising of the works.
What a success!
By advertising the work so thoroughly and so well in advance, the disruption really has been minimal.
And for such a busy road, that is quite an achievement.
I really had been dreading it. So credit where credit is due.
And for others who plan to dig up our roads, please take note!
Commuter, Blackburn
