IN response to Councillor Salim Mulla’s statement (LT, January 25), condemning Eric Pickles’s suggestion that councillors should have a ‘moral duty’ to sign up to the Government’s council freeze – is Coun Mulla advocating that Blackburn with Darwen is going to reject the Government’s money and increase the council tax?
I for one will not be happy if the council increases the tax.
We pay enough now for a reduced service.
Council leader Kate Hollern is stating that all must work together and volunteer to make this a better place to live, with the Your Call initiative.
Is the ruling council advocating that we all should volunteer to work and pay for the privilege?
Not a very good place to be, is it – reduce the service, and pay more for less? Adrian Hoole, Blackburn
